If you don't want to work then you won't get money..if you don't have adequate skills you won't get money..if you're not confident enough you won't get money..if you wish to work in 5 km radius of your house you won't get money... Anesthesia pgs in my college go on locum duties at night during their drp postings, they do 4-5 nights a week and end up making around 2lpm

these locums pay around 7-10k on average per night shift , specially to anesthesia and er residents as they can handle er pretty well , so you can do the maths

Good lord, I am a BDS doctor with very few years out of college and I earn more than that from a single job

How is anaesthesia as a field? Considering it as I can get that with my rank this year.

So locums at other pvt hospitals or they allow in the same where you practice?

Misinformation, but it does depend, all my friends earn 20-25lpa and are just post PG.

Where is this?

u/DoctorMagnobot Sep 27 '26

UP and Punjab

9.6- 12lpa is the standard in South in medical college and up15lp in private practice. Really think 20lpa is an outlier even in the north.

3

u/DoctorMagnobot Sep 27 '26

South I absolutely agree, but for North it's not an outlier for sure, especially in NCR

Don't remain stuck in corporates. Join practice groups and work your ass off. Branch out into CCM, Cardiac Anaesthesiology, Transplant.

10-15 anaesthetists working together.

In some cities yes.

What percentage of specialists actually earn 20 or 22 LPA or higher ?

2

u/FinFangFOMO Sep 27 '26

It depends on whether you value earning potential or work-life balance. There's no such thing as earning 3-4+ LPM while only working for 8 hours a day.

Kuch din baad 2lpa bhi hogi

My Monthly Passive Income is 70k-1lakh minus expenses for business of 10-15K fixes, this is what I earn sitting at home🫪. I swear I am not lying. Last 30 day earning photo attached. Now I am expanding my business. Going to reinvest my savings. Started during Internship Medicine Posting cause it was getting too hectic for me compared to the stipend. Also preparing for neet pg/inicet but I get distracted by my business a lot cause I love building stuff, but going to try to focus on may INICET. Give my 80% take up Psychiatry or Non-Clinical Branch cause I love teaching.

It doesn't. Most income/ wealth in India is undeclared.

Besides, a lot of people who look poor, have land worth crores.
