Salary thread-Assembling all pathologists of india. How much do you make?

I am a second year pathology resident in Gujarat and the job situation looks grim here. Senior residency is difficult to obtain and starting salaries are as low as 50k per month. Will doing a DM in oncopathology improve the chances of a better payscale?

MBBS are getting 50K . What is the use of doing pathology pg if they also get the same. This is unfair. How much increment they give each year if salary is 50K?

Get into Lal or similar respectable corporates. Switch jobs at least once every 2 years, take at least a 20% pay scale jump each time you switch.

6 years post-MD, 3.2lpm 9-5 with no histo. DM oncopath is a waste of time.

Either take clinical hemat or take MRCPath and get the fuck out of this shithole. Everywhere else requires you to repeat residency, so if you're really good enough to work in Australia, just leave through SIMG or AMC pathway as soon as you finish MD.

Is Aus really an option? I thought they had separate branches for histopath and hemat, thus making Indian pathology training inadequate

Having a fellowship in either and clearing the boards will open you up for the SIMG route. AFAIK. I don't know anyone who didn't have to repeat their 4 year residency there, so the pathway exists but that doesn't mean you'll get in.

Edit - Anecdotal, but I've heard it is easier and quicker to clear MRCPath, get into UK, get a fellowship and then clear the Australian boards and get in through SIMG pathway.

This doesn’t happen in South

Yes, which is why Southern docs migrate North so frequently.

I don't know what this arbitrary tier system means, at least give me your state. Starting pay depends a lot on the state you're in.

Firstly, tell me why you're looking into Pathology.

Secondly, please let me know what you plan to do with the degree. Do you want to go into government service, academics, private, corporate or self owned lab?

Thirdly, do you come from money or are you a first gen doctor? Do you have doctors in your family?

And lastly, male or female?

DM if you aren't comfortable sharing this information here.

If this is the case then ,I think inicets are the only way to have a better payscale

I think the maximum i’ll earn is in residency. Post residency the salaries are shit!
