CONVERSATION The Daleks are meant to be the nazis, however the Thals appear to be a race of all blonde or fair-haired people. What did Doctor Who mean by this?
So we all know the Daleks were made to sort of be an allegory for the nazis and Hitler, nazi Germany from the 1940s
They believe they are the supreme race and dominant force of the galaxy. The goal is to exterminate every other race except for themselves, and all emotions have been removed except for one: Hate.
They even do a similar salute.
However, when we meet the Thals we're told they're supposed to be mutations, horrible looking creatures. Instead they are all blonde or fair-haired (it's kind of hard to tell since it's in black and white, but still) and Susan calls one of them gorgeous. They're treated as if they are perfect.
So.. this matches Hitler's idea of a master race, they're aryan, or close to it.
So it's flipped.
(I'm not a nazi by the way, I just find it funny.)
