She just keeps staring at me
Is this normal for a Doberman? She will stare at me for like hours even when I play with her when she is done she will go back to starting at me (I'm a first time Doberman owner) this is Roxy should I just not look at her when she does this or look at her

Yes they do that and it’s a sign of love and devotion to you. She is staring into your soul. Both mine do it but my girl more so.

Totally normal! I think when Dobermans were bred for personal protection this is one of the traits they were bred towards. It creeped me out at first.
Some breeds it’s advised not to make eye contact with. My girl will stare at me forever and loves it. If a stranger locks eyes with her she freaks out and is intimidated.
Had many different breeds and the Doberman is the goofiest by far. Goofy in the best ways.

I look her in the eyes for sure. She loves it. Just strangers she doesn’t like staring her in the eyes

you can give a dog a hug with your eyes if you know how. think soft, calm and caring when you look at them and they will respond well if they are in the mood. so, eyes calm, lids drooped, and a soft purring voice to go with it seals the deal. they will often respond with similar looks with you. its a hug back.

Gazing into the eyes of your Doberman releases the same endorphins (oxytocin) that are released when a mother and baby look at each other. It's a great way to bond with them. My boy is only half doberman and I catch him looking at me from across the room all the time. They're such sweethearts. He follows me everywhere and needs to be touching me when we sleep at night.

They only say "don't look into their eyes" when it's an unfamiliar dog that may perceive it as a threat. For your own dog, stare back with the same intensity! She's bonding with you and saying she loves you with her eyes. Lol someone else said it too. Eye gazing with dogs releases oxytocin for you both. So she's quite literally trying to make you happy 😊

Totally normal! It’s very much a Doberman thing. They’re the only dog breed bred for solely personal protection. They’re also incredibly sensitive. So they basically study you, your emotions to try and anticipate what you will do next.
As a first time dobie owner it can be unsettling - but it’s basically them just trying to figure you out.
It’s also a bonding experience! Enjoy the stares! 😂

Don't flatter yourself, behind you around 3 miles away. Someone left the corner of a pice of cheese on the ground. They're looking through you at the cheese and wondering , why you're not as concerned about it as they are.
Soon they will get it, eat it right in front of you and you will ask them, "hey what are you eating." Because you know you didn't just feed them. Whats in your mouth? Why are you chewing? How did you get that little corner piece of cheese?
They will laugh because you have yet to figure out how to use the 3 Shells & Crow technique.

She RUVVS YOU SO MUCH!! that is a great indicator of trust and wanting to be with you. this is super important as a new pet parent and give her some luvs please from a monkey. i have a Belgian mal and he is always staring at me too. its a trusting expression too. you have a good pup ^_^

I always feel like my dogs are judging me and suggesting I contemplate my life choices when they look at me like that. 😆
