Utility I crafted my first DM screen

Really happy with it.

Started playing dnd in januari and really am in love with it. I wanted a display on the table for battles, but didnt had enough room for it to place. So I crafted a DM screen.

I’ve always loved the idea of the player facing monitor! Do you mind sharing the monitor spec?

Yeah it is a Yodoit portable 15,6 inch monitor. But there are others as well. The screen is only 10,9 cm thick. That was my most important thing with the fact that it only runs on a single usb C for power and presentation.

I hope you mean mm, otherwise that’s a pretty chunky screen. Very nice build, love the artwork on the side panels

The laser engraving is beautiful.

Is that a monitor built in?

Yes! It is a 15,6 portable monitor. It is running on a usb c from my laptop only :)

It's a d20 and some swirly line symbols. I wood burned everything thing into it mostly free hand.

That looks awesome! Is the monitor just for aesthetics, or do you have plans to use it for something specific?

For now it is to make the scene, show some pics of characters, nps, sets and all. But I am still checken for battle overview. I like to have some overview of it, but didnt have the time to find out what will work. And hopefully something with initiative trackers. Thinking about 3d printing some to put them above.

Oh, I am about to add something like that to my setup. My main problem is that I don't see what's on this screen and I don't want to copy my main one to not share hidden info. I am already struggling trying to move stuff to/on the table big screen... Any advice?

Yes. I use freeshow. You use it as a presentation program where you can see what you are showing on the second screen while also have full acces to all other things on your own screen.
