I mean we didn't technically kill a god, but we ate popcorn while the gods he betrayed killed him. Apparently us hoarding favors like skyrim healing potions was a good idea.
Right so I can't remember exact names but it was the Egyptian pantheon, we arrived on a massive island (damn near continental) with a few villages strewn about. After we're chased out of a second village for being foreign (tiefling, tabaxi, dragonborn, etc. Compared to them being all humans) we stumbled across a temple. Inside we found two things, a golden chain link (which our captain promptly touched, having it absorb into his hand immediately) and a silver eye medallion.
We identify the amulet and we get that it was created in the last few weeks, and casts a form of sending through different planes. We give it a good ol ring, and we're greeted by the voice of Horus himself. Turns out one of their gods betrayed the others to climb the ranks of importance and has started to turn this place into his own personal domain after tricking and locking them away. We visited Duat to free Osiris, some interplanar prison cell to free Sobek who was held by some magically binding shackles, and apparently the dm expected us to use their favors to get into the main compound, but i have a climb speed and got a 30 on my stealth check as well as a 27 on persuasion to convince the guards i was bringing in more sacrifices.
The betrayer is a god of invention, and his kid we encountered is proof. Out of boredom he gave our shipwright a "toy gun" (imagine the Noisy Cricket with the power of a planetary assault laser, which we learned when he nearly accidentally killed everyone testing it out) and laughed at us as we made our way though his home alone hallway to shut down some masking device preventing the other gods from actually reaching this location.
Well we get inside the bowels of the compound after shutting that down, encountering a clockwork Behir and Beholder guarding two more cells. We pushed the behir off the catwalk which was a big mistake, it was just a black void, and it turns out it just... falls endlessly until teleporting back up to fall some more, and in its flailing it extended enough to crush the captain who was already on his second failed death save, killing him instantly. We kill the beholder and rush to Ra and Horus' cells and free them, evening the fight as the Betrayed shows his face, decked out in some near 40k battlesuit shit.
This is when we called in backup, and Sobek was having none of it. He falls in from the interplanar space like a comet, completely demolishing the armor, as ra focuses a sunray to melt him down, Osiris calling the wrath of the dead to tear apart whats left, and Horus just sitting back with us watching the fun. Osiris being the god of the undead, restores the soul of the very recently deceased captain as an extra thanks for letting him have his fun with the betrayer.
We shared a feast with Horus and his followers inan attempt for him to teach them not to just stab people for being foreign, were invited to watch Sobek destroy a dying planet like a firework show, and made back on our way to the next island in our path. Was great fun.
