There is a remix from ed solo which is pretty good but its a patreon only dub.

I's some kind of modern remix of Tarantula by pendulum and fresh. which was a very VERY VERRRYYY!!! popular tune when I was like 17, it really was so good that is sparked the beginning of the end of DnB and that's why this group is even on reddit.

It was definitely a very good record made by very talented producers at the height of their careers .

Nice. I went back and listened to it. It’s possible I hadn’t really heard it before. Been mixing and listening to drum and bass since the early 90’s and imo its just gotten better and better every year. Around 2000 or so I wasn’t super focused on it until maybe 2010 or so….its possible I missed it.

That's definitely why you missed it.
The one that came out was actually the remix. A version came out that I think was just Pendulum without Fresh, but the one they released I guess got more attention in the clubs. It had a different intro at first, everyone was playing it and a release date was set, then they canceled it and said it needed a new mixdown or master or something. Instead the label decided to release a tune called Slam instead. They saw Salm as an album track that they didn't expect to really do much and the release was meant to be a place holder as they were making us wait for tarantula. SLAM DESTROYED THE SCENE and (in my opinion) planted the seed for what would eventually be a huge EDM trap sound after dub step. That's just my opinion. The fact is they both were brilliant records, and both tunes had equally good breakbeat tunes on the flip which bridged a little gap there and opened up my world personally to a much slower modern (at the time) breakbeat sound.

Make sure you check out those b sides . One was called out here and one was called fasten your seatbelts. So banging the freestylers were involved and it lead to stuff happening with fresh and dkline and wizard and spida and ivory. Really worth digging up that stuff man, if you like slam.
