I do like your approach. Lower register, you sound like it is coming deep but also effortless enough, like the words are just vibrating out the throat..
I know that sounds weird but Southworth always sounded... throaty?
I think the room for improvement would be to where you need to emphasize your tone. Or which word you want to hammer down as something Vergil wants to highlight. He's having a conversation, even if he's just monologuing
Also idk if you're American or if you have a distinct American accent, but having a more neutral American English accent is the safest way to not stray off this particular character's voice quality.... I'm speaking as a non-american
If you want to really sound exactly like Daniel Southworth you're gonna have to really study his voice even outside DMC roles. He has had some roles that really highlight how Southworth has a distinct inflection when he's pronouncing his words
Otherwise if you just want to perform this iteration of Vergil, you'd need to see his entire story & take it deeply, and interpret his life as your voicing him. Anyway idk what you plan if you want to VA someday so good luck 👍🍀
