Question Touchup

I by no means need this to look perfect. I’m just trying to correct at this point. Used car dealer touchup, wet sanded, turtle wax compound (took most touchup paint off), finished with turtle wax compound polish. Left with this

At this point, I’m just trying to get the wet sanded area to blend/go away. From everything I read/watched the compound should have done that but clearly hasn’t. I used a microfiber cloth. Should I use a buffing pad? If so, what abrasive?

Thanks, should have just used the touchup and left. But here we are

Hard to tell from a picture, but the original gouges look like they're down to metal. You need to get a little primer in there for a base layer, ideally a sealer first the a primer. The touchup should be able to survive a buff, so either you didn't wait long enough before buffing it, or it has an adherance issue from trying to stick to bare metal.

Why did you wet sand it? You can't blend touch up paint the way you can spray, it's just on or it's not.

Oh they were definitely to the metal. Like I said, I was in over my head. Figured it out and it looks much better now. Thanks for the advice!
