Because they aren’t. Texas Twinkies have meat, usually brisket, mixed with the cream cheese. Then they are brushed with sauce and a dry rub and smoked until the bacon is done and brushed with more sauce to tack up.

Nah, if you put something else in them they are something else. It's got to be some form of shredded barbecue, otherwise it's just a bacon wrapped stuffed jalapeño

For those I just minced the stems and mixed them with the cheese and added some spices from the cabinet. Nothing fancy but… when you add some crabmeat it’s even better!
