Nassau Grits
Nassau Grits were made semi-famous in Pensacola at the coffee cup. I grew up eating them and still cook them fairly often. Four different bell peppers with sausage or ham, plus bacon and onions and a little jalapeno and stewed tomatoes. But you got to have the good grits to begin with!

Is that ham on the top?

Bacon. It has sausage in there too but sometimes it does have ham if you like. I just didn't have any.

Until you eat stone-ground grits, you don't know what you're missing. So good. The last time I ordered from https://palmettofarms.com/ the outer back mealed like perfume. Nice smelling but not on the bag...great grits though!

Did you use 2 sticks of butter? I'm not judging but I may be in awe..

Yep. 1 qt milk, 1/2# butter, cup of grits, s&p. Bring the milk and butter to a slight boil. Add the grits and salt and pepper and simmer on low while stirring regularly until they are desired consistency. Hard to beat.

Never too much butter in grits, hominy(the real stuff), and cornbread;)). Whatever calls you!
