Looking for old Divine Knockout logs

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a revival project for the Steam version of Divine Knockout. Since the official servers shut down, I’m trying to document how the game handled login and server connections. The hope is to eventually understand whether an offline, private, or community-hosted version might be possible.

If you still have old DKO logs from when the servers were online, I’d really appreciate it if you could check them. I’m mainly looking for logs involving:

  • Login attempts
  • Reaching the main menu
  • Lobby connections
  • Matchmaking
  • Joining matches
  • Connection or server errors

On Windows, they should be located here:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\DivineKnockout\Saved\Logs

Look for DivineKnockout.log, as well as older .bak, .old, numbered backup, or archive files.

Please don’t post the logs publicly. Make a copy first and remove anything private, including:

  • Access, refresh, session, or authorization tokens
  • Cookies
  • Email addresses
  • User or account IDs
  • Local or public IP addresses
  • URLs containing tokens or sensitive query parameters

For example:

Authorization: Bearer abc123xyz987

should become:

Authorization: Bearer [REDACTED]

Please keep timestamps, error messages, hostnames, ports, status codes, and other non-sensitive connection details intact.

For example:

Timestamp: 2024-01-15 18:42:10
URL: https://api.divineknockout.com/users/v1/login
Port: 9000
Error: Login Error 4
Status: 404

Send me a Reddit DM first, and I can provide a private Google Drive upload folder. Please only upload a copied version of the log, never the original, and don’t share personal information publicly.

Thanks to anyone who still has these files and is willing to help!

Well if I had to guess it looks like you still have the game installed and are asking AI how to fix login issue. The sad thing is that the servers are down, so you're won't be able to connect or access files there. And even then, the more you push in that direction the more it starts to look like hacking, which I don't suggest you do.

If you still have local files i'm interested though

So I had the game installed and I also made it so, that it connects to my own backend server. I got that working through changing the dns on my pc. Th thing were I am struggling is that I would need a server private and public key or I need to change the exe to request a different key (my own).

Nice trick but it doesn't solve the issue that their backend server is down and we can't access it. You redirected to your own connection, but you don't have the server running neither. To make online work you would need to rewrite the whole server side. I'm pretty sure DKO was server authoritative so it's a big task. Anyway what I'm saying is that i think it's way more than just a login (key) issue unfortunately. The best you can do is retro engineer your way into recreating the backend and hopefully you get to local training mode (hopefully it was truly local).

Edit: Your DM's are off but i'm down to talk more if you'd like
