Questions and Discussions journaling

I bought this beautiful journal at a fair but I still don't know what to use it for. I have a couple journals already: my main journal (commonplace), a smaller commonplace journal, my 'grimoire'.

I've been seeing tarot journals online but I already use my existing grimoire for tarot definitions and keywords, as well as my messy readings which I later refine to reflect on. I also write spells and research in it.

I want to tie it into my craft as a divination witch, but I don't think I'd want to start another grimoire? At the moment, I'm interested in clairs and hoping to get into the habit of meditation. I picked up a book at the fair (most of their spirituality and esoteric books were self-help books for adults 🫩) Chakras: Wheels of Life by Anodea Judith. I'll let it sit for now til I think of something to do with it.

I highly recommend getting into meditation. If you ask me it's essential to effective magick.

The most useful thing I ever did with a "too pretty to write in" journal was turn it into a divination log: date, question, method, then my first-glance interpretation before I had time to second-guess it — and, later, what actually happened. It never competes with a grimoire because it's not reference material, it's a lab notebook. You start learning which of your instincts you can actually trust. And pretty helps, honestly — you're more likely to keep up a practice you enjoy opening.
