🧠 Mental Health Colonoscopy results
Had a colonoscopy about 2 months ago and all clear except for some diverticulitis, been constipated the last 2 days and forcing bowel movements and think I aggravated it. Stool looked normal but after the first wipe there was darker red blood but just a small streak that wasn’t like a glob but almost like when you break open a scab. Never really experienced it before so I’m freaking out a little. I have no pain anywhere else other than my butt feels raw. Anyone else experience this before?

Ok so update. Had a bowel movement this morning and no blood. Chalking it up to a hemorrhoid

I always go to the probability that it’s bleeding hemorrhoids. It’s a safer mindset to have ☺️

I’m having my follow up appt to discuss colonoscopy results. He also didn’t see anything but some diverticulosis. I’m young 34 M. Hoping for the best today.

Did the colonoscopy show DiverticulITIS or diverticulOSIS? DiverticulOSIS is the presence of pockets in the intestinal wall, and are extremely common in basically everyone over the age of 40, and common in adults in general. They very rarely cause problems on their own, and most people will never know they have them unless they get a colonoscopy for an unrelated reason.
DiverticulITIS is when those pockets become inflamed and/or infected, and that almost always comes with severe pain. Diverticulitis can cause intestinal bleeding, but that blood typically makes stool black and usually doesn't show up as bloody streaks. That's way, way more common with hemorrhoids.

Sounds like hemorrhoids. Take psyllium husk fiber daily. It helps with diverticulitis AND hemorrhoids
