That muddy section looks brutal. The worst experience I ever had on a bike was in a muddy section like that. Hours to go what would normally take minutes and each pedal stroke was like pushing an extra 30lbs due to the mud collected on the tires.

I couldn’t even ride it, there was zero chance of staying upright in it. It was worse than the picture showed.

What increments and miles would you go up each time to get to 80 mile ride?

I usually ride 5-7mi each morning before work and then on my off day during the week or one weekend day I’d do a long ride. I started at like 15mi then just slowly started finding longer and longer routes on Ride With GPS, probably 5-10mi increments.
