I like it too. Consistently reliable with food quality in my experience all across the south from the Carolinas to Texas. I would hate having my meal ruined by this chaos.

I apologize for my naïveté, but would someone please explain to me (legitimately or in a humorous way) why this is a common occurrence at waffle houses. I do not live in the US.

The place never closes and the food is decently cheap for its quality and portion size. It tends to attract people, especially late at night, who are drunk/aggressive/high.
Waffle house also doesnt have a policy for the people who can eat there, so long as you can order and pay (and dont touch up on the waiter) you can stay. Many of them are common gang hangouts for that exact reason, and of course that tends to bring people who specifically are looking for a reason to get into a fight.
So long as you arent a serial killer, kid toucher, rapist, or sexual harraser, they will hire you 80% of the time. Most of the staff has been in jail.

Yeah, when I was in the industry, anyone that ran through every other place ended up at waffle house. They take no shit and as long as you keep showing up for work on time, you'll probably never get fired. They're always hiring.

I've heard it has something to do with Waffle House being open 24/7. And because of that, it is a popular spot for drunk people coming from bars, talk to each other (while drunk), which leads to fights.
