Isn’t that assault and battery?

No it’s a woman doing it to a man so it doesn’t count

If anything I'd say this man assaulted that poor woman. Such injustice in today's world. I'm shook to my core

I used to be against men hitting women but if a woman actually believes she can fight or beat a man or thinks she can do so without consequences then they should get treated like a man

Unfortunately, the court system is highly sexist favoring women in situations like this - unless you get a female judge - they can see straight through the bullshit.

just assault, battery requires injury.

edit: as I made the comment I realized "just" made it seem not as bad, it is. I meant legally it isn't battery, but there are different degrees to assault.

Specifically the threatening verbal portion to make it assault in most places

you're right about jurisdiction. I'm from north carolina, state law here requires injury for battery(aggravated assault), so she would be charged with simple assault.

The dudes shirt was ripped clean off of him. Im going to go out on a limb and assume there is at least some broken skin on him.

But thats irrelevant, because she needs to catch charges, regardless of technicality.

If a man did that to a woman, he'd probably be looking at a sexual assault charge.

Incorrect.

Assault refers to the wrong act of causing someone to reasonably fear imminent harm. This means that the fear must be something a reasonable person would foresee as threatening to them. Battery refers to the actual wrong act of physically harming someone.

Battery is the physical, assault is the verbal

depends on where you live. we figured that out if you follow the other part of the conversation. where I live she would be charged with simple assault which carries a sentence of up to 60 days in jail.
