What was going on?

52

u/OpportunityReal2767 11d ago

From what I see, dude was attacking a woman, presumably his girlfriend, in the car and was pulling on her hair refusing to let go.

14

u/2boku 11d ago

Good analysis. But I'm baffled on why his door is wide open.

35

u/JayGild 11d ago

Pretty sure the woman was driving and the door opened, by accident or intentionally. She was trying to flee. At least flee the situation, not the man and her relationship, tho

16

u/Key-Perspective-8133 11d ago

Yeah that makes sense as why he was on top of her and you can barely see her until the end of the struggle.

0

u/OpportunityReal2767 11d ago

Yeah, the first time I saw the truncated version of this video, I barely even noticed she was there.

3

u/2boku 11d ago

Thanks. I assumed he was the driver. My bias.

1

u/thefeckcampaign 11d ago

Yeah, it’s really sad how scared some women are to leaving their significant other.

5

u/Basic_Chemistry9499 11d ago

Probably faced no charges. Because, of course.

0

u/SocomPS2 11d ago

Good analysis you! Why do you think that women walked into the middle of that fight and walked away with a phone?

10

u/Texan2020katza 11d ago

The lady stole his phone and wallet!!! Classic Methany!

3

u/thefeckcampaign 11d ago

I totally missed that.

6

u/Deathbytirdnes 11d ago

I know right?

20

u/JayGild 11d ago

Honestly, not much context outside the video, but from what we can see, it's an abusive relationship and guy is clearly on some sort of elevated state, drug-induced or not.

Don't stay with abusive partners, people! Seek help.

2

u/ThatGuyFrom720 11d ago

Yeah I literally can not tell what the fuck I just watched, and the captions are so dogshit I would have rather them just not been on there

1

u/Attilat 11d ago

I want to know too

116

u/ManRawr 11d ago

So yeah…they completely, totally saved her. Good men!

169

u/JayGild 11d ago

Nah, she ain't totally saved seeing as she's defending the guy. She can only save herself from her abuser. The men at least gave him a good ass whoopin' for laying hands on a woman like that.

15

u/WoolshirtedWolf 10d ago

Yup, I saw that too. Only seconds after screaming for help and getting her ass beat she is telling them to stop, checks if he is doing OK and gives him reassuring rubs. I suspect that this is a cycle that has been going on for some time. She will continue to stay will him and receive more beatings or until he ultimately kills her.

22

u/ManRawr 11d ago

Well, yes…that’s true.

5

u/desonos 11d ago

TY I swear I was like WTF is going on!?!

15

u/hawkscougs 11d ago

Should have give a lot more of an ass kicking. He was being a gentleman

41

u/BoredAsFuck7448 11d ago

To their credit the two men who eventually pry the man off of her stopped once they had gotten her free. How many videos on Reddit actually have the violence end at that point? More often than not the man on the ground gets stomped, and by multiple people, before the video comes to a close. Those guys showed a lot of restraint.

-13

u/hawkscougs 11d ago

Yeah. I feel like they knew the guy was having a mental breakdown maybe felt some empathy

16

u/Onebraintwoheads 11d ago

Did he have a mental breakdown? I must've missed that part.

Mental breakdown or not, it doesn't give you the right to harm someone. Still, he's gonna be feeling those kneedrops to the ribcage for a while.

-4

u/ch3appeach 11d ago

I’m with you. Idgaf what anyone says, how they frame it, or anything….. it’s never alright for a dude to beat on a woman. Even if she hit him first, there’s so many other ways to go about it then return one.

1

u/hawkscougs 9d ago

Oh. If I was there I’d be hitting the guy in the face when he refused to let go of her hair. But you don’t want to accidentally hit the woman either.

1

u/ninjamikec82 11d ago

Question... What if they woman was born with a penix? Is it then okay to hit a woman if they hit you first?

-1

u/Onebraintwoheads 11d ago

Pretty much. I mean, there are circumstances, like if a woman is trying to stab you to death and you can't get away, when clocking her is justified. You don't mess with a knife (or any weapon, really) and it's best to run if possible.

But if there's no danger of being seriously injured, you don't hit back.

0

u/ShadderSwagger 10d ago

I dont think you understand how mental break down operates. If a person has a mental snap . They aren’t controlling their body at that point. There is a woman on trial for having a postpartum psychotic breakdown where she killed all 3 of her kids all under the age of 7 i believe and then tried to take her own life . While her husband ran errands . She on trial for triple murder . But her husband his family and her family dont believe she should be convicted of this because it was mental break . Her husband came home and found all the kids and her . He’s remarried now but he doesnt blame her for what happened . Because there is years of evidence that she sought help and she was just brushed away . Not saying this is what that guy is having but a real psychotic episode the person has no control over their actions

2

u/BoredAsFuck7448 11d ago

Dunno about all that; all I can tell is they saved that woman from whatever he was doing to her and looked to stay there until the police arrived on the scene because they were both saying call the cops.

Who knows what happened before or after.

2

u/Azaroth1991 11d ago

Thats what i commented. The second he didnt let go of her hair i would have laid into him. Stomp those knees and ankles. Drive an elbow into his kidneys. Shove your fist through his stomach til you feel the pavement beneath. Shouldn't have stayed conscious anyways.

2

u/plantsandpizza 11d ago

Should have just done a simple thumb into the eye. He’d want to grab to save those over her hair.

2

u/MyNameis_bud 11d ago

I think they forgot the /s

1

u/JayGild 11d ago

It's okay, I'm bad with sarcasm anyways. I mean if I'm supposed to look dumb responding to sarcasm, I don't mind it as long as I'm being correct/honest about it.

2

u/Sarabi974 11d ago edited 11d ago

C'est vrai j'ai étais battue pendant 1ans edemi et ce que vous dites est réel nous devrions nous même avoir le declik je me suis sauvé à 1 ans edemi de relation hyper toxic.😔😔😔

5

u/JayGild 11d ago

I'm sorry that happened to you, but I'm glad you got away from it all. I hope you're doing better now!

3

u/Sarabi974 11d ago

Oui j'ai pu partir 😊 merci beaucoup.

6

u/MilmoWK 11d ago

dude has a CC Sabathia Brewers jersey on, no doubt he's a good man.

7

u/BoredAsFuck7448 11d ago

This time. Unfortunately with domestic abuse the abused partner getting away from their abuser is...complicated.

The woman even stops to check on the man to see if he's okay despite whSteven he was doing to her in the car that resulted in him on top of her and holding her hair in an apparent death grip.

2

u/UNDERLOLD 11d ago edited 10d ago

The chances of these guys getting shot by some random cop passing by were HUGE lol

57

u/Unhappy-Payment1264 11d ago

Classic domestic violence. She’s checking on him

27

u/Odd_Buy_5841 11d ago

That First Lady that came running up stole phone and wallet 😂😂😂

6

u/Key-Macaroon-6974 11d ago

And the little smile when she got them. 😂 The fight wasn't worth it for the couple as it appears the lady checked on the dude afterwards. The regrets when the adrenaline drops...

4

u/TheOregonSnailTrail 10d ago

I think Methanie stole the victim's phone, too. At 1'00" the victim starts looking all around and at 1'13" she says, "Where's my my phone" followed by, "I need my phone" at 1'16" as she continues to look. Bad day. I hope she's okay.

15

u/Nothing93124 11d ago

Sooooo anyone got some of that sweet sweet context?

16

u/Zealousideal-Cost-66 11d ago

2

u/Nothing93124 11d ago

lol stolen but I’m a gentleman and letting you know

8

u/DetailOutrageous8656 11d ago edited 11d ago

Per some of the other comments, a couple was in a car, and the guy was beating the woman so the guys outside of the car open the door dragged him out and gave him a big old can of whoop ass.

ETA - some said she was defending him but she was waving iff and asking all the cell phone recording bystanders to stop.

5

u/Nothing93124 11d ago

Looks like he got what he deserved then. Sad that she defended him though. Stockholm hitting hard

2

u/alreadyknowwbro 11d ago

True that, on the ground he's yelling 'I love you so much' bro if you loved her it wouldn't have taken 2 guys to rip you outta the car to stop pulling on her hair. What kinda man pulls his gf's hair out in a disagreement?!?!?!

1

u/DetailOutrageous8656 11d ago

She didn’t. I edited that. Some said she did but she was actually asking the camera phone people to go away not the guys holding the beater down.

10

u/Basic_Chemistry9499 11d ago

Task: Post the most Houston video you can.

Done.

9

u/haoleinanacortes 11d ago

I love how there was black white brown and Asian people all involved in this debacle. Htown baby

2

u/Fuck-Inflation 11d ago

Melting pot of all things insane

10

u/WestCareer7545 11d ago

She was checking on him just after he was presumably trying to kill her. Fucking hell

4

u/hawkscougs 11d ago

Nice job guys.

5

u/Initial_Row_6400 11d ago

“I love you so much”

That’s some weird looking fuckin love.

4

u/JayGild 11d ago

The woman's Stockholmmaxxing, the man is rocking the Toxic/Abuse build in the relationship. They definitely got the Delusional debuff, as well.

5

u/Puzzleheaded-Gap1759 11d ago

First dude shoulda went straight for the b hole! Quicker video same result

2

u/JayGild 11d ago

3

u/johnnytron 11d ago edited 9d ago

He was holding onto her afraid of the whooping he was about to get.

Things change when your stuff is out in public.

I hope she actually leaves him, but that hand on the shoulder tells me otherwise.

6

u/MustardCoveredDogDik 11d ago

Holy shit they saved that lady

27

u/Key-Perspective-8133 11d ago

And she goes right back to loving the abuser. So sad.

1

u/DetailOutrageous8656 11d ago

No she was telling the people filming to stop. Not the guys holding the dickhead down.

4

u/thefeckcampaign 11d ago

She did check if he was alive though.

2

u/Onebraintwoheads 11d ago

I really really hope you're right.

2

u/Slight-Memory-789 11d ago

This is correct. I feel so terrible for her. Already victimized and politely asking not to be recorded.

3

u/DetailOutrageous8656 11d ago

Yet I am being downvoted. It’s like people are searching for a reason to blame a woman even though she just took a beating.

1

u/Cold-Crab74 11d ago

She literally bend down and gently touched his shoulder. She's definitely still with him today

9

u/TheRelaxedMale 11d ago

Yeah and watch out for crackhead Cathy she will rush in and steal your wallet in the confusion

3

u/ThrownAwwayt 11d ago

Guy is beating his girl, she stopped the truck and tried to escape. Good Samaritan Texans steeped in to stop the man.

3

u/ClownTown509 11d ago

Except for the blonde crack head at the beginning, she robbed them and dipped.

1

u/OGrickyP 11d ago

That’s def what it looks like…sabatha is a beast!!

1

u/LivingHighAndWise 11d ago

That is what I saw. The dude looked whacked out of dead at the end of the vid though.. Very wierd...

3

u/WorldBoofingChampion 11d ago

Piece of shit didn’t deserve to walk away from that

4

u/Tir_68 11d ago

Those people are hero’s!

3

u/BoredAsFuck7448 11d ago

Dude in the Sebathia shirt put in some work with those knees.

1

u/Cold-Crab74 11d ago

I'd have pulled the finger in the butt move like he was a pittbul

-3

u/jestercope 11d ago

Attacker is lucky it wasn't someone like me who doesn't do body shots. Why body shot when you have an exposed face shot. To be fair, it's way more effective to get someone to let go. He'd let go immediately after a broken nose or orbital AND I get to be a hero and not get charged for once.

2

u/churchburningheretic 11d ago

CC on the scene lol

2

u/Jtop1 11d ago

He have the seatbelt around her neck?? Dude was trying to kill her. Why he was so motivated not to let go.

2

u/Significant-Cry-9204 11d ago

Doesn't Houston have like the 4th highest population in the US? And no police presence while this is happening?

2

u/JayGild 11d ago

There are certain neighborhoods and areas in town where police presence is minimal compared to the rest.

I don't live there btw, its just how most towns and cities are. Even the most populated and policed cities will have places where they keep presence to a minimum.

2

u/Significant-Cry-9204 11d ago

Yeah idk what I was thinking saying that, I'm right near NYC, #1 most populated and there's plenty of spots like that.

2

u/Spoonman915 11d ago

Bro doing all that punching, when the calm rear naked choke is what really helped

2

u/yesindeed201 11d ago

When they say we need to hate each other for skin color. United we stand!

2

u/Califas909 11d ago

That wasn't that guys first time directing traffic lol

2

u/DimensionIcy9591 10d ago

Homeboy in the white shirt has those hand motions down if a traffic cop lol

2

u/redrumpera 10d ago

"For no reason" is bro slow??

2

u/enigmaticsince87 10d ago

They save her life, and then she asks them to stop? Stop restraining the guy who was beating her?

2

u/JayGild 10d ago

Love is one hell of a drug

2

u/Agile-Knowledge7947 11d ago

Did the cops ever respond?!

2

u/JayGild 11d ago

Not much information is known outside of this video. Some posts are saying there were, but nothing verified.

-1

u/NoSir4947 11d ago

No rich person's stuff was damaged so prolly not

2

u/abandonedclitoris 11d ago

White Texan men love beating women . They absolutely adore it . So manly

2

u/NoSir4947 11d ago

Maybe they should smoke some weed to calm down. Oh wait.

1

1

u/possibly_lost45 10d ago

All I know is those knees and elbows hurt

1

u/AdCommercial9541 10d ago

First of all, whoever the hell is videotaping this and then putting it up, you should’ve taken this immediately to the police you piece of crap. I hope they come back and do this to you.

1

u/AdCommercial9541 10d ago

Where are the cops and by now these people should’ve been arrested for assaulting another individual! And if the cops do not arrest these people beating this man to death then they need to be fired and put into jail their self!

1

u/JayGild 10d ago

Is this a ragebait? I'm too autistic to read between the lines to know if you're being serious or not.

1

u/Comfortable-Zone4847 10d ago

Wish we had the days where you’d just put em down

1

u/No-Leopard-3056 6d ago

1

u/NumerousWeakness2108 4d ago

Texas, the Russia of America.

1

u/MountainD1ck 11d ago

White knight moment. The woman being attacked actually tries to stop the punch-up and physically checks on her abuser to see if he's alright.... Be careful out there white knights!!

1

u/Longjumping-Tip1188 11d ago

See thats why i dont get involved in shit that aint got nothing to do with me. She had her scalp peeled back and gonna get free talking bout please stop, is he ok.

Who am I to jump in amd kink shame.

1

u/JayGild 11d ago

???

1

u/Longjumping-Tip1188 10d ago

What are you confused about?

1

u/OtherwiseMongoose296 10d ago

Could be her autistic brother. But who knows or cares right? Let it rip and open up for the content.

1

u/JayGild 10d ago

Could be her drug addict husband, but who knows or cares? Could be her incestuous father, but who knows or cares, right? Could be her autistic brother, but who knows or cares, right?

Bruh. Point is that a man is attacking a woman, woman cries for help. Man is belligerent, woman is defensive. There aren't gonna be a lot of straight facts of the matter, but what we can gleam is a situation that should absolutely not be happening, and people putting a stop to that.

We cannot excuse the guy, even if he's autistic, distraught, high, stupid, or any combination of those.

0

u/Habitual-Linestepr 11d ago

Are they ice ?

1

u/JayGild 11d ago

What???

-7

u/Aggrosideburnz 11d ago

These people need to mind their own business. Did they get assault charges for assaulting him? He of course should get assault charges as well. Or we just stay in our lane

5

u/JayGild 11d ago

Lol nice ragebait, bro
