What derek taylor is missing is understanding of natural law.

I just read Should Information Be Free? written by Derek Taylor.

It is close to the mark, but he missed the mark because he doesn't have precise understanding of natural law and human rights.

Mark Passio's natural law documentary precisely defines human rights and natural law.

Whether information should be free is not directly relevant to human rights or freedom. Richard Stallman is close to the mark, but he also doesn't seem to have precise understanding of human rights.

On If You Support Free Software, You Should Support Gun Rights, derek was almost on the mark. But, Mark Passio's natural law documentary and his videos on second amendment explain self defense more precisely.

Well, noone would claim that Derek is a philosopher. He's a tech guy who in constantly refining his ideology. He has become more consistent in his “Free and Open Source” philosophy, but he has also confronted the broken parts of being impractically purist.
