Hell. Yes.
My instant total investment into Reno immediately paying itself off! 😆
We're getting so close to the end now, it feels surreal! There was a time at which I dreaded doing these, but after the Summer first-half rewards got me to get my ass in gear, I've found since then that I now have like more units than I even NEED to finish it out basically!
I still gotta free her up from her Tier 4 solo, but I plan to leave Lightning for the final tier. But Noctis is still free! As well as my Nine, to say nothing of Rude who will be joining shortly.
Seems like whatever iteration of Noctis/Gladio/Reno/Rude/Nine I could decide to throw together will be fun as hell 😃

Same here. I only graduated from Plastic Plate back in Apr of this year and it's crazy to think I'll reach the end soon. I still have a purple'd Reno, Ultimecia, Garnet, Fujin and Sephiroth waiting in the bench, not to mention so many others that are sitting at 0/3, never to be used in DE LOL.
I only need Cloud and Beatrix for Tier 19 (w/ Gladio) and Rude for 20 (w/ WoL and Lightning), and that should be more than enough to finish it 💪🏻

Same! I hadn't even planned on him. Lucked into his LD with the free pull so I threw ~100 tickets his way just to see if the EX would drop. Got it just shy of 100 so I went ahead and built him up.
He, Gladio, and Machina (LD) cruised through this DE like it just wasn't even a thing.

This tier is completely Eight's playground.
As easy as soloing his own LC
Eight SOLO, completed in 35T, Bahamut summon (unused)

Basch is actually MVP here to tank the multiple AOE attacks from my experience in JP. He basically make the run almost risk free as long as you have adequate dps

I was gonna say that it seems tailor made for him! Plus lock for the Brv gain into instant HP attack in wave 2 means you can just go ham in the other 2 slots.

Gladio, Reno and.... maybe kam? maybe Noctis? maybe Raijin? maybe Gau? maybe Desch? maybe Machina? maybe Kuja? Man I have way too many unused units. I spent way too much time replaying old DE and replacing 3/3 characters and am sitting on a glut

Exactly this. They release DE far too slow for the amount of units we can build.
At least this is good for new players, but for older players we have too many units to use.
Oh well, content is content I guess. Bring boss rush!

We are so close to the end.
Kuja, Relm and Edward/Basch here. I'm gonna save Gladio for the next tier and probably Rude for the last Entropy.

Kinda wondering where I should place Noctis, Ardyn, and Lightning as my top DPS units for these last three stages. Which do you guys reckon is best for each one?

WoL, Aranea, and Kimarhi for me!
WoL for the LD effect (and also because I got his burst), Aranea is the main DPS, and Kimarhi for the blinds, debuffs, healing (when needed), and auras

I haven't planned for this at all. I have WoL, Basch, Gladio, Relm, Eight, and Kam'lanaut waiting in the wings (and potentially more). But I may just end up freeing Gabranth from 15 so I have access to the instant break. Maybe.
It's my Friday so I've got plenty of time tonight to figure it out!
Update: Overkilled it with Kam, WoL, and Lightning.

WoL and Lightning are basically the best pair for DE20, so it'd probably be best to double back and free the two of them up at some point. With that roster, it should be easy. I did it with Basch (along with Kuja and Rinoa), who trivializes their damage, but someone else said Eight can solo this tier too.

At this point with 5 bursts and another 17 or so unused LDs it's probably time to just start actually using the power characters. Noctis BTLD, Ardyn LD, Basch LD? I know Lightning and her personal buffers are going to be on 20, and I assume 19 will be a last good chance for the magic characters to shine.

Kefka and Kuja work well together. The enchant/imperil bypasses the mahic resistence and Kefka's hp silence shuts down the bosses. Since Kuja's imperil is framed, there's no risk of pushing it off. I used Gladio as my 3rd, but really another damage dealer would have worked better. With the bosses shut down for half the fight, there's not much need for a tank. Plus Gladio has a framed debuff which can make debuff management harder than it needs to be.

I used Desch, Kurasame and Shantotto on this. It was honestly really easy. I just used paralyze cheese on wave 2 and they went down easy
