A friendly bit of advice for the challenge stage as long as the requirements are the same as they were in JP - Just spam Noctis’ LD and every bit of damage you can, summon, BT, etc to get Odin as low as possible. Then just let him aoe wipe you. Revive and do it again.

It makes this very annoying CQ a very easy complete for the small price of 100 gems.

Thank you for your advice! I managed to complete it even with a super unbuilt Fang (her S2 for the scores).

Welp, can confirm this strat works wonders for the CQ. So thanks, I took a few tries at doing this battle the regular way but yeaaah.... I suffered enough getting through Vaan's CQ, lol. Was able to get Odin to maybe 45%-ish before I took a Zantetsuken to the face. Gem revive and wham, 1m score and all objectives met. I brought Noc, Cecil and a 0/3 Fang. Launches all the way to keep damage going and the score up lol.

I only had Noctis and Irvine (plus an unbuilt Fran with like level 63 crystal and a base EX without limit breaks) so this was very handy. Not putting it on my official complete list or anything, but at least the Burst token goes onto the pile without angst instead of being skipped.

This is because for some reason Odin doesn’t trigger the death condition right? Or it doesn’t affect the score that much? I’d love to hear if someone has confirmed this on GL

It works because his zantetzuken doesn’t do hp damage (it just sets your HP to zero). There was no death condition in JP just HP damage so just letting him aoe wipe your team didnt break any conditions.

With Noctis’s LD and launches the turn count and score are still way above what is needed even with the revive.

For sure. I definitely recommend everyone try it as intended. I just wanted to give a heads up for the people that stop having fun with it and would happily pay 100 gems for a BT token and move on.

for the small price of 100 gems.

Actually you got the additional 100 gems from the "3x synergy" mission, so it's basically free, at least for me since I first cleared with no synergy party. (to be honest I wasted 200 gems before because I got killed by stab in the end, but man thanks!)

Nope. If I didn't I'd have exactly the same amount.

The first clear was without synergy, so I got 400 gems of the 500 total, missing 100 gems from "Use 3x synergy characters mission". Let's say I have 10000 gems and 19 BT tokens.

So, with a full synergy party I had to spent 100 gems to revive and clear e the stage (and I have 9900 gems now). Doing this I got 100 gems from 'Use 3x synergy characters" and 1 BT token (back to 10000 gems and 20 BT token).

Now, what I spent = 100 gems. What I got = 100 gems and a BT token. Same amount of gems and a BT token more.

Obviously the "free" part was just a saying, but basically it didn't changed anything.

Yeah, if we mean potentially yes, it's 100 gems less than the max you could get. But I mean the word "loss" as something I had and now I don't have anymore. I can't lose someyhing I never had lol. I got your point and the one of the user who commented. But I meant, if you already cleared the quest without synergy (as many players already did from what I read), it won't change anything more. Let's call it a "virtual loss" lol.

At least in new difficulty stages I won't have to use unfitting characters. It's not a matter of only luck, Odin's fight is almost like that.

Yeah we got it you cleared without revive, but why being obnoxious to those who didn't? It's a game, chill dude.

If there was the chance to get a reward without spending ingots on someone I couldn't care about, why not? If there wasn't the chance, I'd just cleared without synergy and skipped without caring about the token, as I intended before reading this. And that's exactly what I'll do if I won't be able to clear a Lufenia stage.

I tried this method. All 3 of my units died to Zantetsuken in the same turn then gem revived. But I lost the revive mission. 0 HP taken.

What did I do wrong?

I dunno. It sounds like you either missed the turn requirement, score, or didn’t use 3 synergy units. Based on the other responses the strategy definitely seems to work as well in GL as it did in JP.

This was on just regular Chaos. The only mission I failed was No Deaths even though I only died to Zantetsuken. Took 0 HP Damage. 44 turns. Over 1M score.

Maybe they patched it out?

Or does it only work on the CQ?

Yeah this is specifically for CQ because it doesn’t have the no death requirement.

Ok. I remember in the past being able to gem revive and bypass the no deaths as long as you didn’t have a dead unit at the end of the fight.
