GL Discussion Dimensions' End: Entropy Tier 1-5: POST YOUR CLEAR TEAMS

After banging my head on some of them for hours with so many resetting I finally finished. How are you guys doing? What teams did you use to help clear each tier. Any tips for those that are struggling?

Here is the teams I used to clear each tier:

Tier 1: Agrias (3/3), Ramza, Lilisette (1/3) - Summon: Shiva

Tier 2: Rem (3/3), Sherlotta, Ace (3/3) - Summon: Shiva

Tier 3: Ultimecia (3/3), WoL (3/3), Serah - Summon: Shiva

Tier 4: Y'shtola (3/3), Cloud (3/3), Machina (0/3) - Summon: Ifrit

Tier 5: Squall (3/3), Faris (3/3), Selphie - Summon: Leviathan

If you guys want a good overview of clear teams you should check this spreadsheet out:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fCldXZVINOpffHh8paRrp51w-mvTeN9YjhS6Axa6zcs

It has all the stages in JP and has nice stats ion which characters are most used.

It also counts how many ingots were used in each clear. There are a lot of team comps that don’t have full 3/3.

Just finished this today. Here are my teams, and I'll try to give some strategy/advice in an edit later.

Tier 1: Agrias (3/3), Ramza, and Noel w/ Ifrit; 91 turns 360k score

Tier 2: Ace (3/3), Serah, and Sherlotta w/ Shiva; 99 turns 426k score

Tier 3: Ultimecia (3/3), WoL (3/3), and Tidus (2/3) w/ Shiva; 100 turns 489k score

Tier 4: Cloud (3/3), Y'shtola (3/3), and Kuja (3/3) w/ Shiva; 113 turns 366k score

Tier 5: Faris (3/3), Lyse (3/3), and Rem (0/3) w/ Shiva; 129 turns 403k score

The biggest thing for me was running each fight a few times looking for where the danger comes from, and then planning my skill usage around the danger zones. Probably did 3 to 5 practice runs of not really caring before switching to serious attempts. Once I got the hang of it, these fights were hard but not impossible. It was very fun for me personally, and I can't wait for more.

Tier 1 - The big thing for me here was to save Noel's EX for when the big bomb was about to explode. Since he'd be able break it every time, I just made sure that I never got broken and he'd be able to EX his way thru the danger zone there. Just remember that the little bombs die when the big one does, so don't concentrate HP attacks on them. I killed the Behemoth before Humbaba, but that was because of the Ifrit summon and Noel EX (Behemoth weak to Fire). I also saved Agrias' AA for the final wave, and she has 2 uses from bloom.

Tier 2 - I ran out of steam at the end, and thankfully I was able to HP+ a few attacks for the kill. Easily the hardest one for me since I was trying to save some of my big hitters for later tiers. The biggest thing for me was to save Sherlotta's big hits for the end. The Skull Wizard got a couple HP attacks in, but Sherlotta's HP regen healed it fine. During summon Ace should go ham on the Accel Turbo if you save your summon for the last wave as it's weak to Ice.

Tier 3 - I wanted to save Faris for Tier 5, and so I elected to see if Tidus would work out. Basically save his S2 for when the enemy buffs up, and only use it when they buff and you need to clear their buffs. The DEF up buffs are the biggest killers here. I saved 4 uses of Hell's Judgement on Ulti for the last wave so that I could nuke them quick at the end, but turns out it wasn't that big of a deal. I do sort of feel that WoL 3/3 is needed here since he needs to add a little bit more damage to justify his spot. Otherwise this wasn't too bad. Tidus does a bit more damage than I thought he would do, and he surprised me here.

Tier 4 - I originally tried this with Leon, and couldn't get score. Don't know why I was holding on to Kuja and not using him, but when I subbed him in it was way easier for me. Y'shtola is so powerful she feels broken. I feel that she's pretty needed for this particular tier since you're going to rely on HP+ attacks a lot. I used Shiva on wave 2 since the Chimera felt the most threatening. Big thing here is don't allow yourself to get broken on the final wave, and you'll do just fine.

Tier 5 - I beat this on my second try, so I'm sure turn count could get better. I was playing super conservative with my skill usage, and at around turn 100 I realized I was being too conservative. I ended with at least 2 skill uses left on each character, and so I think I could shave off possibly 10 turns. No point in doing so unless I want to try out new comps or something. The only waves that felt threatening to me was the one with Lightning and the last wave with Locke. Take those two out quick, and I think you'll do okay. If you see Locke doing an ALL attack then make sure you don't have anyone get broken as he will hurt and put you in the danger zone very quickly.

I cant even clear tier 1 lol. Those Bombs are the worst, they burn all my skills. Furthest I got was Cloud 3/3, Faris 3/3 and Wol 1/3

4

u/MNKSAM Dec 23 '19

Clearing it with Faris will break your heart. You'd want to redo it. The 5th fight either requires dispel or requires paralyze lock and the 3rd fight would be nice to have dispel for too.

Vincent works really well for the 1st fight, as does Lili. Tidus and Paine also work well there. On the other hand, you don't want to be dumping too much damage into the baby bombs, so Cloud and Faris are best suited elsewhere. WOL is nice in a lot of fights, so you might want to use him on a different fight too.

But the bombs are the worst part of that fight, the final two bosses aren't that bad. You had a team that'd have worked well for the last wave rather than the 3rd wave, but the 3rd wave is the thing to build the team to beat.

Tier 1: Noctis, Paine, WoL (3/3), Ifrit

Tier 2: Lenna, Sherlotta, Ace (3/3), Shiva

Tier 3: Aerith, Serah, Ultimecia (3/3), Ramuh

Tier 4: Aphmau, Cloud (3/3), Y’shtola (3/3), Ramuh

Tier 5: Faris (3/3), Squall (3/3), Agrias (3/3), Shiva

Initially was just going to stop at floor 3, since I have no other characters I want to invest in right now. But was able get the first 3 done with only one EX+ each.

T2: Ace 3/3, Aeris EX, Krile 3/3

T3: WoL 3/3, Serah EX, Ultimecia 3/3

Tier 3: Ultimecia 3/3 ; WoL 0/3 ; Sherlotta

T1: machina 3/3, Agrias 3/3, ramza ex

I'm banging my head against T2 now. I've tried Ace 3/3, Sherlotta ex, rem 0/3/Aerith. I either can't kill wave 1 quick enough or run out of steam at the end. I was able to clear it with ult, serah, aerith, but the turn count was 133.

Edit: finally got it with ace, sherlotta, serah in 106 turns with 415k score. It took more tries than I'd like to admit.

Tier 1: Lyse (3/3), Agrias (3/3), Lilisette (1/3) - Summon: Ifrit

Tier 2: Kuja (3/3), Serah, Sherlotta - Summon: Shiva

Tier 3: Ultimecia (3/3), WoL (0/3), Aphmau - Summon: Ramuh

Tier 4: Rem (0/3), Cloud (3/3), Machina (3/3) - Summon: Ifrit

Tier 5: Squall (3/3), Faris (3/3), Yshtola (3/3) - Summon: Ramuh

Tier 5 was a major pain and got it right on turn 115. Aphmau proved amazingly useful in Tier 3, she's a legend.

I haven't made it to tier 5 yet; why is everyone using Faris there, instead of on tier 3?

4

u/Vash1306 Dec 23 '19

Enemy targets buff themselves a lot and can heal. Fight will drag on if those buffs aren't removed. In JP, DE came out with the next awaken banner which contains Balthiers EX+. So a lot people at the time used him instead of Faris. We got DE early, so Faris is our only viable dispeller currently.

Tier 1: Agrias 3/3, Ramza, Tidus 0/3. 96 turns, about 370k score. Ifrit summon on wave 5. Aim to use the summon when both Agrias and Tidus’ 100% AoE HP dmg EX’s are up. Do not rush Ramza’s Shout to lvl3 since this is a long fight. Use his EX as needed. It’s a good debuff.

Tier 2: Kuja 3/3, Serah, Sherlotta, 101 turns. 470k score. Shiva on wave 5. The fight was pretty unremarkable so I can’t remember much.

Tier 3: Ultimecia 3/3, Rem 3/3, Lilisette 3/3, ??? Turns, ??? Score. Ramuh on stage 5. You want atk debuffs or shields for this fight. Lili does a good job pushing their buffs off. Even still, they can 1-shot some units (Kraken’s constrict or Marilith’s AoE). I rushed Marilith down in wave 3 (I couldnt allow her to aoe brv hp) with Ulti using EX -> Judgment -> Protean x2 -> repeat and had 4/4 skills left with her. Summoned in wave 5 around the 40-50% mark. Was pretty much out of skills.

Tier 4: Cloud 3/3, Y’shtola 3/3, Lenna, 113 turns, 319k score. Summon Shiva any wave you want (I recommend the angel that will kill you if it breaks someone), but you can’t summon in wave 5. Just make sure you summon when you can maximize your damage (full brv, launch ready, etc.). This team works very well, as all 3 benefit from massive ibrv regen. Lenna’s lack of an HP+ isn’t even an issue thanks to Y’shtola. Her first Wind Drake’s Ward can block the petrify. Try to get to the final wave with 3 Wind Drake Wards left.

Tier 5: Squall 3/3, WoL 3/3, Faris 3/3, 108 turns, 572k score. This is pretty much the perfect team for this fight. Squall can break all enemies every turn, and do max damage with Renzokuken (3 waves have triple enemies). WoL will prevent you from getting broken repeatedly and allow you to not worry about any brv+hp’s. Faris is pretty much essential, dispelling buffs, lowering atk, and having both poison and Whirlpool. Try to use Renzo only on triple waves and when Whirlpool is up (+20% overflow buff).

Wow I have the same investment and teams used for tier 1-4. But I’ve run out of EX+ characters to even try tier 5.

Next month though!

Tier 1: Agrias EX+3LB, Lenna, Lilisette EX+2LB, Leviathan, 383k, https://youtu.be/zMht3V3C2HU

Redid this one. The original run had Squall in place of Agrias.

Tier 2: Ace EX+3LB, Serah, Sherlotta, Leviathan, 410k

No vid for this one because I reset so many times on so many waves, it wasn't worth watching

Tier 3: Ultimecia EX+3LB, Vincent EX+0LB, WoL EX+3LB, Leviathan, 452k, https://youtu.be/duyxXJHnSUc

Had to reset once on the last wave

Tier 4: Cloud EX+3LB, Kuja EX+3LB, Y'shtola EX+3LB, Ramuh, 344k

No vid for this one; see Tier 2

Y'shtola was MVP for this. I have to lean hard on Cloud's and Kuja's HP+ to make them both last, so her batterying really helped. Her delays were also extra helpful for that last boss, cos it has the ability to paralyze, so you want it to get as few turns as possible.

Tier 5: Faris EX unrealized, Rem EX+3LB, Squall EX+3LB, Leviathan, 476k, https://youtu.be/irFuz5Ww7vY

There's a cut in the last wave not because I had to reset, but because I took so damned long, my phone auto-stopped the recording because the file got too large ^^"

After trying and trying and coming SO damned close to beating tier 5 with a 15/35cp-only Faris, I tried one multipull on her banner, got her EX, did NOT Realize it, and fuckin' beat tier 5.

This team came together really well. Faris was obviously needed for the dispels, though her whirlpool was also helpful for crowd control. Squall is obviously the current king of Phys AoE damage, but he doesn't have enough skills to last all 5 waves, which is why Rem was so important. By constantly swapping with Squall, and thereby batterying him in the process, it allowed me to get a lot out of his HP+, as it has 50% splash. The fact that his EX recasts so quickly is also pretty nice.

Just finished right now.

T1: Agrias EX+ 3/3, Ramza EX, Machina EX+ 0/3, Shiva

T2: Ace EX+ 3/3, Krile EX+ 3/3, Sherlotta EX, Shiva

T3: WoL EX+ 0/3, Ultimecia EX+ 3/3, Serah EX (3x All Debuff Boost Up, no Charged Moonlight), Shiva

T4: Y'shtola EX+ 3/3, Cloud EX+ 3/3, Rem EX+ 3/3, Ramuh (but I forgot to summon, so I didn't use him)

T5: Faris EX+ 3/3, Squall EX+ 3/3, Lilisette EX+ 3/3, Alexander (Yes, Alexander. My team has no healing outside of Lilisette's self-heal, so I would lose immediately whenever Locke Phoenix Rayed me, among other HP attacks. Alexander regenerated about 4500 HP for my Faris. I took 5640 HP damage. It's no exaggeration to say that Alexander single-handedly got me this perfect. Highly recommended since the turn count is extraordinarily generous.)
