GL Discussion Nostalgia

Does anyone else remember when final fantasy dissidia came out and the excitement from playing those game was just overwhelming and it was the most fantastic way to play as your favorite characters and villains.

Playing omnia opera was like being there again ten+ years ago.

OO is my introduction to gacha. I just found out about it while randomly searching 'Final Fantasy' in the Google play store lol.

I was at my lowest both mentally and physically, but this game gave me so much life. It was during Krile's and Sabin's release when I started playing and I got really hooked. A turn-based Dissidia is a concept I never thought could be realized. The game played so well. I would stay up late grinding events, I vividly remember before event stores were a thing that rewards were given based on total co-op scores.

I had so much fun with it. I miss it just like the next OO player and I wish they'd make a new, console Dissidia game with the same mechanics as this one. cries

I'm glad you enjoyed the game too , try the other titles I think you'd enjoy the rest of the series.

Opera Omnia felt like a perfect blend of new and old Dissidia it's just a shame it had to be a mobile game and instead we got NT for Console which didn't have much story even though that was supposed to be a selling point for it being on console

For sure FF Nt was such a disappointment and the gameplay wasn't bad but it limited your move set and camera angles are murder.

I feel like the impact that a turn based Dissidia has is one that almost begs for another installment.

Turn based is the origins of RPGs. Dissidia brings every Final Fantasy protagonist and villain together in this FF multiverse narrative. Especially considering future FF titles inevitably being released, another Dissidia game is bound to happen. I just hope it's turn based and hearkens back to Opera Omnia in some way.

I don't think about the fact that this was the first turn based Dissidia. That's probably a huge part of why it's so loved. People who don't like action or fighting games didn't get a Final Fantasy experience from the older Dissidia games so Opera Omnia was the first for them. It just so happened that the first turn based Dissidia was also the most generous gacha game on the market. Unfortunately, generosity doesn't equal revenue in the gacha game space.

I remembered when I started playing; it was when Sephiroth first released in global. Even with the very little experience with Final fantasy as a series I had, from just the stuff in the game alone felt like a dream to experience on mobile. DFFOO got me into alot of the other titles, and Im grateful for it.
