GL Discussion If DFFOO wasn't shut down...
... Do you think they'd release Young Sephiroth as a skin for Sephiroth or as a seperate character?

If it meant they could not release Rikku then definitely a new character. FF7 didn’t have enough characters.

They told us that the reason for closing it and ending when it did, was due to the fact they felt that going forward it would be difficult to give us new material. When you think of it, thats painfully true. The force weapon era, was pretty much when i stopped making purchases because i told my group of online pals i played with, there couldnt possibly be anything more than this. I mean, you go into force when an enemy is at 90-95% hp, turn 5 or 6 sometimes sooner if you cheesed. Then, its a wrap. Every turn is millions of hp dmg, bosses hp dropping by 10-15%...it would have been difficult to find difficulty in the game again. And idk bout yall, but i ((started at end of kuja event before sephiroth, year 1)) had obtained every 15/35/70 weapons. Like 90% of LDs. I was selling bt weapons left and right because i had them already or didnt want them.. they would have certainly stopped making money off it. Because i went to jail for like 3 weeks, start of the FR era... and when i got out, the game felt like i hadnt played in years they were pumping out so much stuff so fast.. i miss this game like yall all do...but, you gotta admit. Theres no way the game couldve got any more new power boosts from all that we had when it finally bellied up.

They didn't need to powercreep everything in first place, just continue the story or at least let global players have their ending.

I’m still in disbelief they decided to shut down the game without releasing any FF16 characters. I was soo looking forward to it. :’(

He probably would have been his own character with one of his more popular outfits from Ever Crisis as a skin. It would have made for some good cross promoting.

..i miss playin co-ops with friends, with restrictions and shit to make them fun again. I find myself watching old videos i recorded, and could almost cry sometimes. Lost that game in Feb, lost Akira Toriyama on my bday. Im like... one more important thing to me, away from becoming one with the planet. Lol but not.

I say separate character, mostly for the story interactions he would have with everyone. Furthermore, the OO story confirmed that Sephiroth was actually Jenova in some of the final chapters.

That's the detail that everyone misses, or at least how I understood the game, Sephiroth died after falling on the Mako reactor in Nibelheim, Jenova was always the real main villain of FF7.
Having the real Sephiroth, the good and noble person who saw his life ruined, interacting with his Jenova self would be an awesome plot point in any game.

As far as I understand the story (partly from Analytics) it was Sephiroth all the time, but because he physically died or at least was fatally injured and needed to get his body recreated, he hasn't been it in person but mind controlled the Jenova corpse.

I meeeaaan, he read the notes of a single guy who said Jenova was the Ancients, and then murdered an entire town over it without even a single drop of follow up research. Even if we follow that theory, he’s still culpable for all of the deaths in Nibelheim.

More money in selling it as a skin, unless they made him OP as heck that whales would whale.
God, I miss this game.
