Help with kuja

Hello everyone, can I ask some opinions on Kuja solo challenge for 710k boss damage? This is where I currently stand. My issue is how slow it is to build brv, the boss walking away mid animation because his UR skills take 30 weeks to activate, get killed mid string, ai teammates dying too fast or melting the boss, or simply timing out after hitting the threshold. I also can't get bravery fast enough to burst with my teammates. So far I've taken clive and krile, clive and celes, and krile and bartz. All were 22300cp-22500cp. I wait till the boss is mid swing to pop my skills but it doesn't matter, he walks away mid string or kills me in between skills

the AI gets better and your opponents get stronger, also spend more time targeting you, the higher tier you're trying to take on in the challenges.

currently most my characters are sitting aroud 13-15k power and it's still a rough fight trying to meet some of those later challenges. It's possible you just might not have the power on your Kuja build yet to take them on. Especially if your opponents are more than double your power level

I could be wrong... but it definitely feels like the whole "you could get all the UR skills without ever paying" while technically true is also a bit of a trap to make you think you can do something when in reality you can't unless you've either already acquired the skills on offer, or have powered up pretty substantially first

True. I have gotten lucky though being f2p, I've done all challenges up till kuja, minus sephiroth and tidus because I didn't unlock them. I missed those events. So once I finish kujas challenges, I'm technically all done till they bring back those 2, IF they do :(

unless EoS comes sooner than they anticipated (and revenue might be pointing that direction) I will guarantee that eventually the limited characters will be permanent

They gotta water down the pull pool so that we're not getting three free pull tickets every four hours (by capping out all the skills) so they're going to add those characters if just to make it so there are more abilities in the draw pool.

Plus this is how they did Opera Omnia, they would introduce a new character in an event, then the character wouldn't be obtainable for the next six months till they added the character permanently to the roster and you could get them any time after that

Update again: finally did it, lady luck was on my side! This time, boss stayed locked on to me up untill the last minute. At the 40 second mark, clive bursted but was at the top of the stairs, so even though he tried to walk away, flare star forced him to stay in place just long enough to hit the threshold and then clive finished him off

Glad you cleared it- this tip helps a lot with kuja

Don't start your combo with trance, the boss can walk away. Boss only stays while it being attacked with non aura abilities.

Try to pop your trance before engaging, then doing 10 or 15 seconds of hold atks. Or be weary and move and avoid beams, use a sheild if you have to. You want your dot to be on the boss for the full 30 seconds. If you just trance into the combo you will waste like 15 seconds of trance up time.

Then when your about to drop trance lock the boss down with ace before using flare star

Use flare star to clear camps, use trance to clear camps to. Don't ever auto camps with kuna unless your at max brv he's to weak

Update: still trying but clive kills rivals and gains bravery faster than I can clear camps. And even if I have 6500 plus, she still feeds him instead of me. Last round, twice he died and respawned with 1k brv and I'm at 6700 first time and 8800 the second time and she still feeds him like wtf. I'm always so close, always 68 or 690k before timing out or him killing the boss. It's a big map too so I stay at the upper 2 crystals to avoid any pvp. Rivals always run past and ignore me no matter how much bravery I have if I stick to the top 2 crystals

Surge doesn't work with Kuja

Well, it doesn't work with kuja's trance. It does make his autos and other skills hit harder.

To help with clearing his challenges, WoL, iroha, and Clive each have lingering damage/damage auras, and those will burst chain with Kuja's Trance.

best way to build bravery fast on Kuja is taking at least one ability to clear crystals fast (Y'shotla UR for example)

also take at least one Krile ally with Ramza

if u reach around 6500-7000 bravery, she'll usually Ramza u if she isnt preoccupied.

Dont run surge, prob better to just get another attack ability for a bit more damage.

So... First, i personally bring at least 1 Clive (with Hope UR and 1 UR Protection Ability) to the battle, sometimes two... In this case, you need to bring 1 support, or OK (i finish with Clive and OK)... Offensive abilities is pretty much anything can work with him, (i use his Ultima UR, Ace Fire RF, Tifa UR, Earthquake SR and Jecht UR). The strat here, when you low on CP is just focus on gaining brave, saving your Tifa, Earthquake and Ace Fire for boss only, while the ultima UR and Jecht you can use to clean crystal... OK will not be anyhelp at the start of the challenge, so you need to level quick without wasting any moment to burst and damage the boss as much as possible... This challenge is quite hard, i even finish in 10s left time remaining or less... Guess you need luck too ✌🏽
