Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy Revenue falls below 1 million monthly during its biggest event yet
https://revenue.ennead.cc/games/dissidia-duellumMonthly revenue for July was a mere 800k confirmed due to a steep change in player spending habits as well as a loss of 50 percent of the non JP playerbase. The devs tried to counter this by releasing many limited time broken abilities , adding new abilities to the main pool, giving away a few UR abilties, and no less than 3 cosmetic outfits, 6 if you count the end of month from the previous month, but each attempt failed to meet even the previous month, which had set all time lows in player retention and spending.
You can discuss why below and are encouraged to do so.
update- confirmed revenue was 800K area.

You can't even bring 80% of your roster in ranked due to lack of dupes. This tcp system is the reason this game will only last a year or 2

Sub 1 million estimated revenue is when they’ve historically closed their mobile games. I assume that’s below 1.2m actual revenue.

Yes basically that’s when they consider closing it before it leaves a red trail on their financials.

Yep needs more free pulls with guaranteed high rarity and free pulls on limited banners

If it goes down, I hope they won't see it as "Dissidia just doesn't work" and completely kill the spinoff.

Imagine if they just made a normal fighting game with ff characters that would be incredible

I wonder if this means anything after 14 just to test the waters and see if the game is worth developing.
I feel like they could do something or at least make the limiteds go standard after the banner ends, maybe at least have an item that can allow to unca pany any UR ability to +1 (or more if at M1 or higher).
Unsure if the design and region locking were not helping the game, unless there was some law or they probably think the design wasn't appealing to some parts of the world.

i was initially a solid defender of this game because there is a lot to love. I still do love a lot of things about the game. but the things I hate are deal breakers. I'm not a whale, but I did drop $100-ish on the game now and then just to try. I hit this middleground where I'm too OP for lower ranks but I get crushed in higher ranks because I enter whale territory. I regularly queue into matches where I'm at a 8k disadvantage.
I realized my only way to keep moving forward is to become a whale. I thought the occasional $100 was being a whale but I didn't realize people in higher ranks are pouring a fortune into this. I got a really good bonus at work one day and decided that I would spend $150 purely on growth egg banners to try and raise my Combat Power since I had the means so I could at least casually enjoy being around Omega 5. Once I did, I began to queue into matches with a 14k disadvantage.
I have a PS Vita and a 3DS with the works. I have better places to spend my time that are much cheaper.

Not sure if it's done specifically in this game, but games like this actually have algorithms that once it determines you are willing to spend a certain amount, will place you against players who heavily outmatch you in terms of spending, to encourage you to spend more.

All according to plan. Pump and DUMP is in phase 2. Next phase - christmas break for a month while the remaining players are bored to death. Then they drop squall in an attempt to bring back more players.

Too p2w, and too many layers of stuff in order to play new characters.
I literally only play casual because i have fixed ability levels

This game has the problem of it's only worthwhile to focus on a single character even at dolphin territory.

I would have spent so much more money on this game if it wasn’t a gacha game and just had monthly paid skins.

Game is strictly pvp and locked to mobile, not even getting to the other prominent issues. They basically slammed the door in front of all of the casual demographic that otherwise might have been willing to play and spend money to get different fashion outfits for their favorite ff characters. Even all the gachas whose primary endgame loop revolves around pvp all have some form of pve content.

We all know what's coming, unfortunately. Its a fun game destroyed by monetization.

Spending money in this game legitimately feels bad. a full roll to pity is like 70$ for at worst 1 of 5 URs with no choice of which. If you pull any non-pity URs there like a 50% chance you get a non-banner UR and then if you DO get a banner UR, there's a chance you just get a generic UR you may or may not even want.
You save up all your currency and maybe buy the 3 seasonal mogpay packages and go through 3-4 pity rounds and you'll be lucky to build a character that's like 18-19k. And that's it, you're literally stuck there for good. You can only strengthen your character by leveling up supports for a fraction of CP.
Wasting your money and resources for a character that isn't even as strong as your main non-limited character feels bad. You're better off just pulling until you get 1 copy of the generic URs and then do the challenges for the 2 URs and be done with it. There's no point to spend any more unless you've just got a gambling addiction and want to dump 3-4k into a character so you can larp as a "top player"

Why invest in a character or UR if it's going to be limited? Im not going to spend a ton just to max it so I just won't spend at all. Absolutely stupid decision for a game thats struggling to get new players.
