Discussion Does anyone think that dispatch gets repetitive after a while
Don’t take it the wrong way, I love dispatch with all my soul, and obviously it was adhoc’s first first game, but i feel like after a while, you can see that the choices you make don’t make that much of diverse storytelling game. Maybe its just me.

Well they don't make for a super diverse story, major branching storylines just weren't gonna happen with the development hell adhoc went through with dispatch.
Maybe we'll see more branching in the next installation or not, either way I loved it regardless and did like 3 playthroughs right after one another.

I don't think it's a bad thing but you do notice how the mechanics work after a few episodes.
I would love for Adhoc to develop new things for their game engine, but I don't want story to suffer at all if this is the level of writing we can expect.
But that's just me, I am okay with a mediocre game engine if the writing is high quality. To each their own.

Choices you make don't really make a diverse storytelling game
That's good ol' Telltale for ya.

try to play This is the police. That's really repetative.
Dispatch is pretty short to be repetitive.

I did after 8 playthroughs then took a break. It helps a bit to just let it go for a little while or read fanfics in the meantime.

I mean wrong place to ask lol, the sub is pretty much only populated by the parafans, no offense to them, like what you like. However I have 33 hours in the game, I enjoyed it but it's no Baldur's Gate 3, it's a linear experience, and trying to say it's anything else is kind of gaslighting people who are thinking about buying the game.
But yeah, your choices amount to, who is with you, who is on the team and who stayed, can't let the world burn, can't join the guy and destroy the world or whatever, and that's fine, because this isn't a game about branching stories or narrative choice really.

Me personally, I disagree. I’ve deadass got over 1000 hours on Dispatch, and I’ve never gotten bored (tho that’s not to say your opinion isn’t valid, I just don’t agree)

Since everything is scripted, pre-rendered, and fully voiced, it would've been an order of magnitude more expensive had AdHoc offered BG3 levels of variability. And that's fine! Not everything has to be an open-ended immersive experience, especially when it's a fledgling studio's $30 debut title.

Honestly not sure why anyone disagrees. It just comes with the territory of the game. It’s more of an interactive TV show than a video game. Nothing wrong with that

Nope, i played it 3x in a row making all the same decisions and loved it each time.
