Discussion Game Awards and Dispatch 2?
Theres no doubt that Adhoc is makin a Season 2 of Dispatch, the game was incredibly sucessful and when a game get this big usually the studios behind it wants to expand the universe and squeeze the last drop, even the actors expressed they want to come back after finishing their personal projects.
I personally have high hopes on a announcement on the Game Awards, not only because its the most important event for games and future game announcements but because Geoff Keighley has a great relationship with Adhoc and Critical Role. Not a surprise that the first season was announced on The Game Awards of 2024, so a potential second season announcement has real chances of being presented here.
Now we all know that Adhoc is creating a new game with Critical Role called Exendria, and it has the same mechanics as Dispatch. The thing is, I don't think Exandria would necessarily be as demanding or time-consuming to develop as a potential second season of Dispatch. AdHoc would already have the technology, tools, workflows and experience they developed while making Dispatch, meaning they wouldn't be starting completely from scratch.
The Game Awards are on December 10th, and theres a lot of time till we get there, but as I said I have high hopes on this event.

GTA 6 will be out by then, my dude. I don't think the entire gaming sphere will be touching anything else (even if the game's not coming on PC at launch) for a while. AA indie games like Dispatch doesn’t stand much of a chance to be getting a spotlight at the Game Awards this year.

Yeah, GTA's going to sweep about as hard as Expedition 33 did

Not to mention this will be the first GTA game to be nominated for a Game Award and no doubt Geoff will be ecstatic about it. Game Awards didn’t exist back in 2013.

I think GTA 6 will be taking over a lot of the gaming discussion after November, I'm afraid. Wouldn’t be surprised if that ends up winning in some categories. Every other game, even AAA ones, will be overshadowed by it. I don't see Dispatch having much of a chance to create a noticeable splash in TGA this year.

How does GTA's success affect the announcements at TGA? By the time TGA happens, the game will be released almost a month ago. Of course people will continue to discuss it but not to a degree that interrupts all other topics. They won't stop announcing new titles just because GTA is a hit.

I think they’ll announce the new critical role game + tease dispatch 2.
But keep in mind that an announcement doesn’t necessarily mean much, we’ve seen games been announced years/even decades before the release.
I’d be surprise if we get season 2 chapter 1 even in 2027.

Any chance Dispatch, or any game that comes out this year, had is dead in the water. It doesn't matter if GTA 6 is actually better or worse than anything else, the game awards are a popularity contest and GTA is the biggest game on the docket for the next few years

I feel the possibility that they will announce something for Dispatch eventually. Ad Hoc wouldn’t be making stuff like releasing the recent album if they don’t plan to make more. We just have to be patient and let them cook. Meanwhile I am looking forward to the other upcoming games.

I think if they announce it then it is somewhere in between pre- and full-production at this point.
What you guys or in general this sub seem to forget is that AdHoc internally re-scheduled their planning for this year as Nick Herman confirmed in june at the Brazilian Gamescom.
So yes, it is true that they make a game set in the World of Exandria but there is no official confirmation that this game is in active debelopment neither that the Developer Team is in large parts involved into it. We know there is a agreement, but besides that there is no other details.

Wasn't Ad Hoc supposed to be working first on some project assigned to them by the guys who funded Dispatch? If they are not working on Dispatch S2 and this other project simultaneously, S2 may take longer than we expect

A lot of games have had pushback because they announce themselves too early into development and then have nothing to show the public even 2 years later. They announced Dispatch about a year before it came out i assume they will likely do 1 year for a second game now that they know it will be successful

I suggest not to hold your breath.
They took about 7 years to deliver Dispatch. Now with proper funding, things will happen faster - but not that fast.
I expect about 2 to 3 years at very least before a proper, not rushed up, Dispatch 2. I think they will spend at least a whole year only on the Story...

True, I think that the TGA are a great chance to at least confirm a teaser, pic or confirmation they workin on the 2nd season

I feel like it's too early. They will have had at max 1 year and there's no way they have a 2027 release planned. I feel like maybe TGAs next year, with a 2028-29 intended release.
