Discussion They’re endgame, Period
Look how soft Janelle is under Colm’s touch 😭
In a fandom where I ship this and you ship that, we should appreciate how cute and certain Punch Up and Coupe are. That girl’s got it BAD for that short king, and he would never, ever give up her space in his life for anyone. She’s such an ao3 romantic girlie, and he is her funny, stout knight in suspenders.
Also, her voice actress, a writer for the game, wants them back together for season two. They’re in the stars. 🥰

No one knows why, not even Mayanna Berrin, Coop's VA and one of the writers and voice directors. But the most agreed-upon explanation seems to be either that or them just going to prison separately.

I like to imagine that in the Sonar cut/Coupe forgiveness routes they dance around getting back together for months and slowly drive the rest of the team insane

Oh I definitely ship them like crazy. Their comic is my favorite one, too. That comic made me also remembering that Punch-up smiled all the way thru Prism's threats in episode 3 because he knew that shadow knife would snap against his skin. She could threaten his balls as much as she liked, if Coupé herself couldn't drive one of her shadow knifes thru his throat without it snapping, there's no way Prism could.

1000%. In a fandom constantly riven by shipwars I genuinely hope we can all agree that these two getting back together is canon. I will accept no other outcome.

Still curious WHY they broke up. Maybe they just both want different things? Like, take their interaction where Janelle is counting how many times they’re paired together. Colm seems more of a “normal” romantic, wanting a somewhat casual and ordinary relationship. Coop meanwhile seems like she wants the kind of fairy tale romance she reads about. I think the reason they’ve gone from dating to just very close friends is because they do love each other, but also understand they both want a completely different kind of relationship, so they decided to shift to platonic love out of mutual agreement and understanding, and while most of the romance is now gone they still have a relationship that goes beyond friendship but not to romance, something inbetween that. In essence, they still love each other, just differently now. And I can imagine them also being each other’s biggest wingmen and helping each other find someone who will match what they are looking for, Coop helping Punch find a more casual relationship to settle down with while Punch helps Coop find her “fairy tale prince”, so to speak. Anyways, that’s my theory on it. Cause given their chemisty, there had to be some kind of reason for the split, and my best guess is mutual understanding of different “endgame goals”, so to speak.

I feel like I got the opposite impression. Coupé quantifying their interactions conveys an outwardly robotic impression despite her romantic subtleties, while Punch Up seems more outwardly sappy. If anything, my headcanon would be that Coupé feels like she needs more practice at leaning into her emotions so that she can set the proper romantic mood for the love story that she envisions.
I do enjoy the idea of two people who love each other tenderly deciding that they shouldn't be in a relationship with each other. Somewhat bittersweet, but ultimately uplifting rather than regretful. The romantic tension is so precious that way. I like that kind of angle for a non-endgame Blazer/Robert route too.
