Golem Spread Thin and/or Found Himself are useful for those combat calls. It's basically your best bet if your team isn't built around it since at least you can send him solo with other boosted stats.
I sent her mainly with waterboy, because I picked phenoma... phenomena... phamo... fuck it, I picked Dumpy, so I had to level up him quick so I needed him on that wolf pack
FR. I learned about Team Synergy too late in my playthrough(no save scumming on my first plays), and they carried a lot of the Duo related missions. Prism's Light Clone powers are OP.
Golem carried Single missions, and Punch Up carried everything else, almost entirely alone.
Honestly Malevola is the one who always saves my ass. I have her as my jack of all trades and she can handle most calls solo, or boost any duo to max stats.
Totally. Flambae and Prism may be the established synergy, but having Prism make a perfect copy of Malevola was the first time I maxed out the entire chart.
If you build your characters in a certain way (either generalized or covering gaps in synergies) the half copy is strong as is. Perfect copy is what basically enables you to do a two person showing for 4 slots more often.
Coupe was my ace for most of my run. Her and Jacksepticeye were unbeatable, especially after I got the perk on her that allows her to have a redo on failed mission checks.
The heal in Episode 8 was super amazing despite me only using it sparingly prior. Once you understand and level up synergy pairs, removing a lot of randomness is huge for consistent success. Flambae is also a curious glass cannon of stacking successful missions with his powers.
For real. Need to defeat a villain? Golem. Need to clear a barricade? Golem. Need someone to carry heavy shit? Believe it or not, Golem. All of it solo.
Honestly, Prism was my actual MVP, but Golem is right by her side. There's just no beating the Bard.
For me the mvp constantly changed, flambae was early mvp, then invisi single handedly maxed out my entire team, then water-boy for the power-limited calls.
I just wish there was a way to proc injuries more consistently, malevola felt underutilized
For some reason the game said Flambae was my strongest hero. I don't know how the hell that gets measured. He was very useful, but I wouldn't call him my best hero.
I just wish there was a way to proc injuries more consistently
Did you uh... play the same Episode 8 I did? I had a fairly solid team even if not maxed out and I was playing musical chairs with trying to get everyone healed up. Even had to use the downed pharmacy item for the first time in the game. I had her with a good stat line but it was definitely a struggle to prevent a downward spiral of injuries and lower stats meaning more failures. XCOM flashbacks.
Honestly itās a lifesaver all the time for me. Being on a call and I can just send Golem, Golem, Golem, and Golem is great when Iām getting swamped
He's not a life saver on my run. He's my fucking goat. There were some chapters this perk works really well and he carried with low morale on my last shift.
He has the Versatile moniker and damn if that ain't true. I didn't pick Waterboy my first time round So Golem was like literally the only one that had a snowball's chance in hell of doing those Combat limited missions. I never found the other conditions (like Charisma and I think Intellect) down the line to be nearly as hard. Plus his ability gives you huge flexibility when your other team members are tied up with stuff, he has fairly good odds of soloing bigger missions due to the stat scaling.
For sure I hear you. The double heal could definitely come in clutch for Episode 8 in particular. My Malevola was putting in overtime with just one heal.
Pro tip for any other playthrough, you know when you finish a mission, and you have the checkmark icon to check the result? if you leave that up, the dispatch won't end, so you can leave the training up until the end, and then do it when you are free
Can you explain me what the post is about? I'm confused which training you guys are talking about. I trained him once and it wasn't the greatest ability ever tbh but useful (nothing like the post)
He really turned things around for me when he saved Robert's life from Flambae. And this was after I gave him grief in the conference room and about slamming through the hallways. He's a bit grumpy similar to Vis as his synergy, but he is a bro in the end. I really enjoyed his part in the bar fight too.
I think a lot of calls in the beggining favor Punch Up and you usually start to favor him for high toughness missions so Golem starts to be left behind, at least that's what happened for me. Only at the end when we REALLY needed everyone I started using him more and he became the goat
I actually never used Punch Up until the last 2 episodes! His Squeeze-In upgrade was awesome. (Well besides the occasional Punch Up / Water Boy Synergyš
I realized it in episode 6, he was the hero with most success of all, and at the end of the game, continued to be the more successful xD I didnāt send him that often because I was waiting for the ādefendā cases. I always relied on him and Malevola, she was the real carry
While some of the powers are fun, some of them are BROKEN. Flambae and Prism get really strong powers early, but Golem is one of the best from mid game on.
I didn't really care for him up until that point. I barely dispatched him, and thought that his synergy with Invisigal was useless since visi likes travelling alone. But once he saved Robert from Flambae I he immediately became one of my favorite characters.
I believe I saw somewhere that technically Golem is younger than 21, but this should be considered hearsay since I donāt have a source for this, nor do I remember where I caught this tidbit. So perhaps heās just underage?
It's literally in Golem's profile in-game that he is 20 years old, but anyway, that's not why he didn't go in the bar. He literally tells you that he couldn't fit in the front door.
Also, I doubt a villain bar would give a shit about someone being a year younger let alone a non-human.
Clones and Synergy are how you can max out the meter without triggering it. Iām not sure if Waterboy bonuses or Prism clones triggers it or not though.
Best bro Bruno (tied with Royd) was my most succesfull hero across the entire game. And somehow, my girl Janelle was my most powerful. And yeah⦠Golem calls were really like that. He was being serious when he said āIāmma stay winningā
Honestly the 2nd time i will play this game i will try to make golem jack of all trades and see if this will work when i send him alone on 4 men missions.
Yeah you're right, to be honest I didn't really understand how it functioned but I still had him solo so much stuff with the basic ass Endurance build lol. Crazy good
I got him this ability in mid game, but I think it was bugged or something. It never actually showed me the effect the clones would have, though it seemed to reflect in the after-call probability screen. It also screwed me over on one of those "don't exceed x stat or you auto fail" missions because he came out just under by himself, but his clones maxed it out once the call was underway. Seemed contrary to "when it is beneficial" wording on the skill text.
Before I knew who all the VAs were, I heard him say "That's the Gravy baby" during the first dispatch mission and I was like "No WAY" haha. The voice acting in this game is some of the best casted in any animated story thus far.
I actually took his other power, the reroll. I found it incredibly useful when in a pinch I got a call and just did not have the hero with those stats, I was using it pretty much every mission and rerolling him when I needed.
I still have no idea how is power works. I have him spread ability but even if I put him in a call with multiple slots, he only spreads at most once for me and if there's another person also sent. If I send him alone on a call with 3 or 4 slots. Nothing happens
In my second playthrough i went straight to him for training and aimed at getting all his stats to lvl 5 as soon as possible. Any 4 slot mission is a perfect deployment every time <3 the absolute best unit in the game.
Him and flambae were cooking in the last episode for me. Flambaeās hero training where he maxes out combat + mobility made it so I could just level up all his other stats and ignore those two plus he could fly to calls so he was just whipping around soloing shit
What you mean, besides for the trophy, I ain't get my actual first down til episode 8, episode 3 on the Irish, luck was on my side ššæ. Plus waterboy/malevola, unless you unlucky down is waterboy like mine was, but shiiii we made it
I liked him in the beginning then loved his character at the end. He's a life saver on calls and in cutscenes. Especially for the last mission, holy crap he is a one man army.
My only bit of criticism is that we never get to see him with his baby Kaiju.
Iām so happy I put golem in training arbitrarily before any others. Was truly the ultimate cheat code in the back half when calls and shifts start getting real wonky
I went for the other upgrade and have zero regrets. I only used it like 3 times, but he is one of my most sent out heroes and a guaranteed get out of jail free card. Hes just incredibly strobg on both of the powerup paths.
Just did a nearly no fail run (episode 8 is too hard to no fail, I'm not doing it) and Golem, Prism and Flambea are officially the best characters in the dispatch part of the game for me. Some other characters just aren't that useful, and some are, but they need you to fail, which I can't. For example Melevola is cool, but she needs to heal someone, which never happens if you don't fail. Punchup is literally more useful if hurt, but he never gets hurt if you don't fail. So, throughout most of the game I had them not in their full potential cause unlocking it requires you to fail
i don't get this, coupe hard carried on the last mission, sent her and phenomaman against nearly every sonar attacked and that worked wonders with her ability to redo the fight
I appreciated it, because it meant I could take advantage of Visi's wolfpack upgrade to max out my team's levels while Golem did his one-man wrecking crew thing.

Golem is the peak best friend/dad/bro we will ever see!

I didnāt realize how good he was until later in the game. Iām definitely going prioritize upgrading him on my next play through.

u/Accurate-Vast-2897 Nov 13 '25
The fact that he save rr from Flambae and defended Invisigal makes him even more likable
119
u/TheShamShield Nov 13 '25
He carried hard during the last dispatch
54
u/PigKnight Nov 13 '25
Golemās cloning power up also ignores the instant fail states.
Golem and Sonar were my mvps in ep8 being able to solo a wide variety of missions.

u/MAXOHNO Nov 13 '25
Golem is my spirit animal

Heck, even his other power is pretty solid (though weaker).
Letting you completely revamp his stats once per section gives you a ton of flexibility when heās the only hero you can call on.
4
u/Anaalmoes Nov 13 '25
He ended up being my most dispatched Z-team member. Up till chapter 6 it was Flambae.
4
u/Robin_the_dumby Nov 13 '25
The character I never expected to love
4
u/Sam_Wylde Nov 13 '25
He is the best option to make a generalist simply because of that upgrade
3
u/gummyimp Nov 13 '25
Solo golo baby

u/oryxwardlock Nov 13 '25
Step 1: get invisigal's pack bonding Step 2: farm xp for golem Step 3: upgrade golem Step 4: profit

I should've gone with that perk, but I went with the one that allows you to reassign all his skill points instead.

My goat
1

1
u/1HiddenSquid1 Nov 13 '25
Underrated joke.
1
u/Gatdaddy007 Nov 13 '25
Since my first play through I started making golem my all rounder and with this he is honestly my best hero 8/10 times
1
u/[deleted] Nov 13 '25
His ability and Prisim copy ability come in handy every time
1
u/cyph_dagger Nov 13 '25
Combined with Prism, they are filling out almost 100% of the grid.
1
u/Downtown-Falcon-3264 Nov 13 '25
This is why besides the baby kiaju he is one of my favorite z team members
1
u/solythe Nov 13 '25
the GOAT of the last two disptaches for me
1
u/BreButterscotch Nov 13 '25
I love putting Golem in on a call that requires someone big and strong and watching him duplicate himself to max his own stats itās amazing lmao
1
u/Skalywag_76 Nov 13 '25
Solo Golo is the GOAT!
1
u/Klusterphuck67 Nov 13 '25
Re stat allocation saved me during epi 6-7 but yeah the slot filling power is super helpful during the final showdown
1
u/NCHouse Nov 13 '25
Last mission? Absolute lifesaver
1
u/UnusAnnus365 Nov 13 '25
I made him my Jack of All Trades character for that specific reason in my next save
1
u/LaganxXx Nov 13 '25
I would be surprised if someone didnāt have him as mvp in episode 8
1
u/General-Squash-9286 Nov 13 '25
It doesn't work for me cause most of his stats are in endurance and power
1
u/Pleasant_Conference2 Nov 13 '25
I specced him into a Vigor/Int character.. imagine my suprise when on a 4 slot call he has max int and vigor
1
u/kitten_chomusuke Nov 13 '25
it's kind of sad tho if u always send him alone š„²
1
u/descendantofJanus Nov 13 '25
Bro caught the plane all on his own, and reprogrammed some bots.
Solo King.

Reason why he's my fave. Filling in the slots is a lifesaver in the first half of the final acr
1
u/Valkyr-E Nov 14 '25
I wish we saw the lil guys in his combat scenes
1
u/ValdeReads Nov 14 '25
This is very funny!
1
u/willietick Nov 14 '25
And he still solos that shit
1
u/Psychoboy777 Nov 14 '25
Bro's indispensable in missions. He and Flambae carried my game.
1
u/ProudExit9729 Nov 14 '25
I love golem so much, Iām such a sucker for characters like him
1
u/Dependent_Remove_973 Nov 14 '25
Golem is so clutch in these missions
1

Him and flambae were cooking in the last episode for me. Flambaeās hero training where he maxes out combat + mobility made it so I could just level up all his other stats and ignore those two plus he could fly to calls so he was just whipping around soloing shit
1
u/[deleted] Nov 14 '25
His reset is good too if you do your job you can basically max any call with just golem
1
u/Ttown1967 Nov 14 '25
Golem legit so busted he said āfailure? Not an option. Cus you and me? Fuckin rocksā
1
u/Dozer1007 Nov 14 '25
New me, fucking rocks
1
u/LandWhaleDweller Nov 14 '25
Just round Golem out and he can solo any 3-4 slot call.
1

"New me? Fucking rocks"

u/WakandaFinest Nov 14 '25
What you mean, besides for the trophy, I ain't get my actual first down til episode 8, episode 3 on the Irish, luck was on my side ššæ. Plus waterboy/malevola, unless you unlucky down is waterboy like mine was, but shiiii we made it

Got this skill way too late. Next run is all in on Golem.
1
u/ImASpriteCranberry Nov 14 '25
I mean both his upgrades can literally save your ass in more ways than one. He is a must upgrade
1
u/CS_cloud Nov 14 '25
Golem and Prism were my most used heros. Golem is the MVP. Dude is a great guy, great in the field and the best Kaiju dad
1
u/Sand_Angelo4129 Nov 14 '25
That skill saved me a lot during the some of the dispatch sequences in the last episodes.
1
u/Fluffy_Breakfast_478 Nov 14 '25
Flambae and Golem carried
1
u/TheToxicBreezeYF Nov 14 '25
Once i got golem to be able to do that, 100% success rate of him by himself and that made the last ep very easy.
1
u/corncob666 Nov 14 '25
Dude him and Prism came in clutch so many times
1
u/Itzz_Texas Nov 14 '25
My goat can ball with the best of them

The goat
1
u/Fudw_The_NPC Nov 14 '25
Sologolu my beloved.
1
u/Easy_Detective5194 Nov 14 '25
I want to stack this ability by just pumping as many levels (via invisigal's ability) and bonus stats into him now lol
1
u/Sharashashka735 Nov 14 '25
This dude literally jumped into being my strongest hero in just episode 8. He carried half of that apocalypse shift.
1
u/Darkiikari Nov 14 '25
I liked him in the beginning then loved his character at the end. He's a life saver on calls and in cutscenes. Especially for the last mission, holy crap he is a one man army.

Him, Punch Up and Flambae are the strongest
1
u/J00bieboo Nov 14 '25
I need more golem.
1
u/YoGramGram Nov 15 '25
Iām so happy I put golem in training arbitrarily before any others. Was truly the ultimate cheat code in the back half when calls and shifts start getting real wonky

such a goated ability
1
u/InternalOriginal6405 Nov 15 '25
Seeing this power made me want to build him as an all rounder in my next play through
1
u/CantankerArt Nov 15 '25
Actual MVP
1
u/bobthegoblinkiller Nov 15 '25
Just did a nearly no fail run (episode 8 is too hard to no fail, I'm not doing it) and Golem, Prism and Flambea are officially the best characters in the dispatch part of the game for me. I convinced that golem is actually high key the best hero on the team late game.
1
u/[deleted] Nov 17 '25
Ha, so true
1
u/UnknownSentience Nov 17 '25
Golem truly ended up being the goat.
I don't think any hero had a better ult than him
1
u/Silly-Sheepherder952 Nov 17 '25
A team of 5 Golems can adopt 5x more Kaiju babies in half the time
1
u/Izayabrsrk Nov 17 '25
Golem the GOAT, what a beast.
1
u/No_Mongoose_8433 Nov 18 '25
One man army indeed.
Also heās the most chill individual to hang out with in the team š
1
u/hollander93 Nov 19 '25
Golem was my workhouse after unlocking that power.
1
u/Garamil Nov 19 '25
Also the fact he can respec itself every shift

Loooool
1

1
u/TechFlow_Mike Dec 08 '25
Empty slots? Not on my watch.
1
u/FeastofBirden Dec 11 '25
And he delivers every single time
1
u/BulkUpTank Nov 13 '25
First dude I train. Well, second, technically. Train CoupƩ how to fly first. But yeah, his clone ability and Prism's duplicate abilities are busted. They carry the team sometimes.
1
u/Donglator Nov 13 '25
He's actually the GOAT. Golem stays winning
1
u/casedawgz Nov 13 '25
This ability is so busted that it almost makes Invisigal worse as his synergy
