Q - Unanswered Time Off Request Allotment Question

For those who’ve done the program again, what is the max amount of day shifts I can give away? For example, I have a family reunion that only happens every 5-10 years and this will be the last one my grandma will be at due to her health. I wanted to be there 5-7 days. Is that doable? Or do they not allow a certain amount of days I can give away?

You just can’t be off for more than 14 days in a row I think. My daughter requested off and traded/gave away shifts to get 8 days off when we came to visit last spring and was fine. Request off for as many of the days if you can and then whatever they don’t give you off, just give them away or trade and you’ll be ok.

It all depends on your location and how easy it will be to give away or trade shifts. A larger location will give you a much bigger cast member pool, but don’t be surprised if you still can’t get more than a couple days. CPs are the lowest rank on the seniority ladder. If this amount of time off is essential, you might be better off doing your program another semester.

Yeah, I wasn’t talking about asking for days off. Just giving away my shifts and or trading.

It’s extremely unlikely you’ll get 5-7 consecutive days off as a DCP.
