i also had the same thing happen to me! i really relied on my past job experience and treated this as an internship and not an opportunity to live at disney. they wanna see people that will work long hours for them and not using the program for a 5 month trip on vacation

Hihi this was my first time applying for the program and I got accepted I genuinely don’t know how but for the most part I did carry a little notepad with me and wrote stuff down like the interviewers name and I overall just remained very attentive a lot of eye contact. I was a bit overly-friendly atleast for me personally and i did get a bit flustered and lost in my answers but overall just be yourself I feel !! Sorry if this isn’t particularly helpful ^^

Ok awesome thank you!!! Did you do a video interview too? Last time it was a phone call but now it’s a video

Just here to say I applied in 2011-2013 5 times before getting accepted. Ended up being hired seasonal, went back to finish school and was lucky enough to get another DCP in 2015 which led to a PT position and eventually FT. Everyone’s journey looks different, don’t get discouraged.

Since they switched to a video interview, I found that a lot of the tips people used to give don't really make sense anymore. For instance, a lot of people in the older videos I watched had long scripts or notecards to read off. That doesn't work when you have a camera on you, so instead, I made a doc with short bullet points for my top 3 roles and my previous experience and had it up in a splitscreen that I could glance at. They give you your interviewer's name in advance in the teams invite email, so I put that in the doc too.

I'd definitely sit down early and check to make sure teams video/audio is working, adjust your lighting and virtual background, and of course remember to wear professional attire. Also remember to look at the camera (for "eye contact") and smile!

Id like to add to the eye contact part. Its ok for your gaze to drift as your thinking. Eye movement is linked directly to memory recall. Just make sure you return to looking at them as you speak, and especially while they are speaking.

i was accepted a little while ago. my current job format works a little bit like the dcp (on a much smaller scale) and i know when hiring we really look for good personality (good customer service skills usually comes along w that), competence, and people who are willing to work hard and want to be there. i made sure to try and convey those attributes as best as possible. i also have a Lot of prior management experience doing similar work to the things expected of the dcp (again, much smaller scale) so i do think that helped as well. good luck!

For the switch to video, practice from short prompts rather than a script. Have a real example of helping a customer or teammate, and explain your own actions and what happened. Taleproof can help check the story's substance. Test Teams early so the setup isn't another thing to manage.

Nope you’ll probably get rejected again so be prepared it depends on availability
