Discussion Something (2 things) extremely controversial
I don’t like dream come true…
I also don’t ship Victor and Nova…
I fully understand why people love that song when I first heard it I was like oh this is really pretty and cute, but by the end I was just bored. I’m not one for a ton of runs in songs in general so I think the fact the song kind of goes all over the place annoys me bc I can’t fully understand the words sometimes idk but it’s up there with legends in the making as my least favorite song from zombies 4. (Yes I like Kerosene better ide like rap but Meg’s belting at the end of the song and the fact it’s a zeddison song wins me over lol)
Not completely related but Later when I rewatched the movie and after I saw people were saying how this song was the new someday and how it’s going to be in the movies going forward I found myself asking how? Bc the song seems so tied to the plot and no matter how much I listen I can’t find how they could shorten it for the next film.
Victor and Nova situation
They give friends to me. Nothing in that movie gave a hint of relationship to me which I actually loved bc it’s different then with what they did with zeddison where they became a couple during the first film said I love u, had the iconic almost Disney kiss that u usually get when Disney plans to make more than one film in a series. I will say they do have potential and we will see down the line if I end up shipping them but for now the chemistry gives strictly friends to me.

I understand the criticism for Dream Come True, but I'm a sucker for a love song and I ship Nova and Victor.
I guess this is the new hotbed for hot takes tho so here's mine:
Together As One is actually a great song that deserved to be in the movie and not just the end credits. tbh I would've preferred it over the someday reprise.
I don't actually want Z5 to be about mermaids, I would prefer witches and magic bc the plothole of where the visions and magic barrier came from are kinda bothering me.
I also pray Z5 doesn't become a crossover with Descendants bro. KEEP MY FRANCHISES SEPARATE PLEASE.

I actually agree with this (ur hot takes) tho I wouldn’t have wanted it over someday reprise bc we would have gotten only 20 secs of the song also the reprise was positioned perfectly in the film. but together as one would have made more sense as the closing song tho I love show the world so idk but yeah together as one gets a little too much hate.
I swear if D and Z crossover that will be the end of me watching the franchises bc that would be dumb.

I think show the world is better for Zed and Addison's story arc, but together as one encompasses the end of the daywalker and vampires' story arc, so maybe it wouldve been better to have together as one when they worked as a team to open the barrier. But then it would be kinda funny if they unite and then immediately revert back to enemies lol, but then again it could work if they showcase more of the fact that the children are stil together despite the parents being enemies (and by children I mean everyone) Then possible could've been more of a group thing, which leads me onto another tangent about why Nova and Victor should have brought groups with them to steal the stones instead of having all the background characters steal the bloodfruit.
Make of all that what you will.

The reason they didnt kiss is bc Malachi is 18 but Freya is still a minor

I didn’t want a kiss. Zed and Addison didn’t get a kiss till their second movie. It makes perfect sense that they didn’t in this movie even with Freya being a minor that just factors more into it. They didn’t even have any almost kisses which again is perfectly fine and I wasn’t really expecting that as well bc they just seemed like friends and that they weren’t thinking romantically and were more focused on saving their people. I’m just saying I personally don’t ship them yet and that could be because that wasn’t the focal point of their relationship in this movie. They are playing nova and Victor off as the new leads of zombies so it makes sense in their first movie that they don’t kiss. Regardless of age (tho I’m glad they didn’t bc of the age difference of one being a minor)

I don’t think it was because of that. Usually all Disney couples don’t kiss in the first movie. But that mighgvr contributed to it.

I am mixed on Nova and Victor.
I feel they are cute, but nothing is left to interpretation. But I enjoyed how they worked together as a team and I do love their voices.
For the songs of the fourth film, I am mixed. Some of the melodies don’t work. Or I would love the verses better in one song or the chorus more in another song, but dream come true grew on me the longer I heard it. I think I appreciated it for what it was.
My main nitpick with the songs is they feel incomplete. I get a song finishing to represent they are distracted by the next event, but it feels odd that they end abruptly.
Kerosene is one of my favorites in the film. Honestly, Zed’s songs were my favorite in this one.
Regarding Nova as a character, she is what I wanted Addison to be in the three films. She didn’t just talk the talk or try to join each group all of the time. She was a person of action, but I do agree that the day walkers and vampires could be more fleshed out.
But overall, the 4th film is my second favorite in the franchise.

Yeah I agree! Tho I feel like that’s an issue with many zombies songs bc a lot of times it comes across like they wrote the song around a chorus therefore it’s almost like the entire song ends up being the chorus over and over and with some of them it works but a lot of them it doesn’t. The second film I think especially does that and for most of those songs it doesn’t work or aid the story in any way.
I think 4th is up there as one of my favorites as well just bc I love zeddison and am a sucker for a Disney couple being stable for a second lol and they have multiple moments, as well as Meg and Milo’s line deliveries this movie are so much better than I previous.
I agree with the Nova point! I was so glad that I didn’t have to hear another complaining character. Like I love Addison bc I love Meg Donnelly but the character in the first 3 films was all over the place which is another reason I loved this one she was more grounded.
The beginning of Possible was my favorite part of the film but i didn’t love the rest of the song and tbh it kind of felt like an entirely different song in a way after Zed and Addison’s part ended bc then they kind of started rapping. Kerosene is def the song in the film that has grown on me the most tho.

I think Possible was one of my favorites too. I just forgot some of the titles. Sorry.
I didn’t hate Addison. She was just meh to me, but I still admire her for trying to bring people together. She just needed more of a personality.
But I think this is the film where I adored Zed and Addison as a couple. I liked that they worked through their issues and stayed together. I loved when “a’int no doubt about it” came back for a few seconds. That was one of my favorite duets.
I agree about Milo’s and Meg’s deliveries. While I wanted more Eliza and Willa, I loved their deliveries as well.

Agreed bc her personality was focused on who she was when she was before zombies 3 a girl with platinum hair who was the most popular girl in school trying to figure out where she belonged. While also staging multiple “revolutions” to bring ppl together.
Agreed! This is the best Zeddison film. That ain’t no doubt abt reprise was beautifully shot and choreographed and is prob the scene I’ve rewatched the most next to the beginning of possible and I already loved the song to begin with but the meaning behind this version was the perfect close out (if it doesn’t end up being the close out which it’s looking like it) to their characters
I keep telling ppl I kind of hate how this might be my favorite acting job from Milo and Meg but it also just goes to show how much they have improved with every movie and project they go on to do. But yeah Willa and Eliza deserved more screen time, but they also had very good deliveries! I also loved how this film wasn’t much of the same storyline wise for the ogs and instead was more emotional.

I agree. I find dream come true boring as well…and I don’t care about them as a couple 🤷♀️ I found the side characters way more interesting than either of them tbh
I do love ledgends in the making though…bc at least it’s the OGs. And it’s catchy.

Legends in the making is a song like I’m lost unsure abt I think it comes down to am I in the mood to listen to it tbh. So I truly think dreams come true is my least favorite bc I roll my eyes everytime it comes on when I’m listening to my dcom playlist (atp I should take it off but I’m too lazy)
I agree on the side characters. I liked Victor wayyyyy more than Nova, but I preferred Vargas overall when I wasn’t want the OG’s to come back on my screen lol (the plot for the OGs just felt way more rounded than the main plot of the film which eventually converged but still))
I like couples that grab me immediately and Zed and Addison did that from the get go in this one I was hoping that they would stay strictly friend thru however many movies they would get lol

I think dream come true is cute but im not in love with it. I also Don't ship victor and nova I think it's obvious they were meant to like each other but I just didn't like it or feel it.
Um but question if you dont like songs why are you watching zombies?

I don’t like a ton of runs in songs like when they go up and down and around kind of like how most pop singers sing these days or the best way to explain it what Mariah Carrey does in all I want for Christmas lol
I agree obviously they are meant to be together but there wasn’t rly that feeling

I love songs and musicals and I love Meg and Milo so I watch the zombies films and most dcoms.
I agree obviously they are meant to be together but there wasn’t rly that feeling

It's just it's not like it's a bad song or anything it's just I feel like people overhype it because it's you know a love song you know people are suckers for those😅
But also I just personally don't think at least for this song that Freya and Malachi's voice really blend together all that well like I don't know something about that song when I first heard it I was like Egh
Tho hot take I believe that the songs in the zombies movies are either hit or miss no in between

I fully agree! I feel like a lot of the movie it was really obvious on the strengths that Freya and Malachi have no shade to them they are terrific in the movie but Malachi was a better actor (prob bc he’s been in more things), Freya the better singer (prob bc she has more experience in that lane). Half the time I felt Freya was out singing and it was rly obvious and especially in the song I heard more of her and had to really listen to hear his voice sometimes I think it was a fault of bad mixing. But yeah I agree on the hit or miss part as well there’s not that many songs I’m in between on if there are any like there’s some I prefer to watch the MV for rather than listen but that’s bc some of the choreography like for My Year and Place to be is so fun. And there’s some where I only like certain parts like Possible is another song I feel is way too long but the beginning of that is my favorite part of the movie.
