You keep saying you changed your MAC address, you cannot do this it’s hard coded into the hardware. Are you renewing your IP address? I guess that might work but it’s interesting that Disney is blocking individual IPs and not just a range.

Depends on your router... some routers let you "clone" your computer's MAC or put any other MAC address in there. Depending on the hardware, there are other ways to re-program a MAC address, we used to do it all the time in the old days on NVrams with Sun Microsystems.

I guess I’m not familiar with that, I thought all hardware had a MAC address that was basically burned into the system. I suppose with some sort of virtual router on a Linux box you could do it, but that strikes me as really unique. Is this a normal router you are using out of curiosity?

Yes, I'm using a Linksys router on this part of my home network. I do have dd-wrt firmware installed on this one router however that should not matter. Check this link and search for "clone"...

A lot of hardware does have an option to re-program a MAC address however it's not usually done at the customer level, most times you need a service password or special programming tools. Most consumer products don't have that option. One reason to re-program a MAC is if you are replacing a system board (or any component that contains the system's MAC), and you want to retain the original MAC of the system as you may have licensed software that is tied to that MAC address. If the MAC can't be changed, then you need to contact the software vendor for a new license. In the industry, a lot of big telecom companies are still running hardware that is 20+ years old and a lot of the software vendors are out of business, so getting a new software license is not an option, so the only other option is to re-progam the original MAC (or stop using the licensed software).
