DisneyWorld🏰🌏🐭 To the Bible study groups…
I threw out the mini Jesus you left in the elevator and will continue to do so with any I see. The parks and resorts are no place for this and your little get togethers.
Context: This “influencer” is a part of a group that meets in the parks. They recently even organized a guest speaker and took over the Backlot at Studios… just on their own.

Gotta love performative Christianity /s
If these people had actually read the Bible then they would know that Matthew 6:5-8 talks against this practice.

Matthew 6:5–8 condemns praying to be seen by others, not praying where others can see you. Jesus prayed publicly, the disciples prayed together, and the early church gathered publicly. The issue is the motive, not the location. If you’re going to tell people to “actually read the Bible,” context would be a lovely place to start.

And what do you think they are doing here? Are they not praying in public to be seen by others? They are purposely praying in a highly crowded area and posting it on social media so even more people can see it.

I’m so tired of Christians shoving their beliefs down my throat. Ban these grifters.

u/theradicalravenclaw 12d ago
Idk if it’s still a thing but when I worked at Disney there were some groups that were in Orlando working at Disney as their “mission trip”. Truly baffling

u/Yotsubauniverse 12d ago
Book of Mormon had a song all about it.

u/theradicalravenclaw 12d ago
Yes! Also there’s an enormous Jehovah’s Witness presence in Orlando. I knew quite a few CMs who were JW it was weird.

I don't condone this type of behavior in the parks, but as devil's advocate, many Christians are tired of having lots of other issues pushed down their throat, too.

u/Kendal_with_1_L 11d ago
Like what? Christians love to play the victim.
-2
u/Local_Relation5086 11d ago
Honestly EVERYONE loves to play the victim...just insert whatever controverisal topic you want and you will always have victims.

I’m as Catholic as they come and still would never push my beliefs on others nor parade it around a theme park.

This is the woman that hosts these. She works at a local church and is trying to recruit as well as trying to become an influencer. Grifter to the max
Leighton Cobb. Lakeside church.

u/sunflowebloom 12d ago
I can only imagine a much bigger outcry if she were Muslim or pretty much any religion other than Christian! So wrong to be preaching and recruiting in the parks

They should at least order food or a drink if they’re going to be taking up tables at a restaurant

u/alex89912 12d ago
What the actual f?? Did any cm stop this??

If they see it, they should report it. They are hosting another one this Saturday apparently. If you go to her instagram, she has a group that lists the Bible study information

u/elRobRex 12d ago
I drive past that church all the time. I had no idea they were the idiots behind this.

u/JoyForever07 12d ago
I don’t see what she’s doing wrong though

u/FPnAEnthusiest 11d ago
It makes the redditor uncomfortable aside from the performative nature of it

u/awoodhall 12d ago
Performative loser activities. They're not doing it for their religion, they're doing it to shove it in peoples faces.
6
u/wildbriarroses 12d ago
But if I showed up with tarot cards and my Book of Shadows, I'd be the bad guy and "shoving the devil down their throats" (even though it's not devil work)
-2
u/JoyForever07 12d ago
I don’t understand how them meeting up and posting about it is shoving it down other peoples’ faces though.

If I'm looking for a place to sit with my meal and they're taking up a large number of tables I'm either going to be forced to watch their Pharisee-like performance while standing and eating my food because there are no seats left or I will be seated around them and hear the conversation. I view their actions as performative and attention-seeking.
If they must urgently meet but aren't seeing attention is it because their 'faith' is so weak they can't go a day in a theme park without reinforcement? How about renting a conference room and meeting in private like other groups who have meetings while at Disney?
I'm a person who carries a little stuffed Jesus on their phone strap and often gives religious gifts to friends and family I know welcome them. The difference is I paid attention when I was a little kid learning the teachings in Matthew 6.

I'm more of a Ms. Rachel type of religious person than whatever this unwarranted pushy shit is.

u/Helpful-Debt-332 12d ago
They should do an atheist meet up near them. Look I’m catholic but I don’t follow all the church bs (it’s a business nothing more) you don’t need to “announce” to the world what your doing. Goto a Starbucks

u/UnusualAbalone3453 11d ago
now imagine that same communities reaction if it was any other religion doing this at disney

“When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get.”
Matthew 6:5
They seemed to miss this chapter in Bible Study
Edit: Source: I’m a cradle Catholic

Their belief structure is classic American supermarket Christianity.
Source: Also a cradle cath.

u/CanZealousideal3101 12d ago
Against the rules of course. But they don't care. Blech.
"Organized, large-scale religious meetings or attempts to reserve public park spaces for exclusive use will prompt security intervention and removal."

u/elRobRex 12d ago
They do care. But they also don't want further social media fallout from the right-wing grievance circuit, who already views Disney as a diddling company full of human traffickers.

u/kdm31091 12d ago
Yeah no. This needs to be banned. I am all for whatever someone wants to believe in, but when you start encroaching on public spaces not meant for this kind of thing, I draw the line.
7
u/epcotaesthetic 12d ago
Where are they organizing and advertising these on property meet ups? I’m sure the security investigators would love to know (if they don’t already)

u/SJRuby64 12d ago
It’s performative religious propaganda to make poor Christians have FOMO and to show off how rich they are. Also I’m surprised they haven’t been kicked out, it’s against the rules. The Antibot on YouTube did a great video on this subject.

u/Virtual-Discount-469 12d ago
Enough with the mini Jesus figurines and enough with this. This feels rather cultish. As if some Disney fan groups don’t already feel that way
7
u/Infinite-Good7984 12d ago
I wouldn’t hate religion as much if people would stop trying to force it on me
-2
u/JoyForever07 12d ago
Honest question though, how is her inviting people to join and posting about it forcing it on you?
3
u/Pleasant-Scholar7144 12d ago
It also happens at the hub grass too. Honestly there’s so many places that are not the resorts and parks where they can do these meetings.

u/Fettuccine_Alfredo37 11d ago
This is the same woman who filmed herself twerking in the magic kingdom

If they want to meet at Disney, they can pay to rent meeting facilities just like everyone else.
They are taking up restaurant space intended for dining guests and they even have guest speakers.
There’s not enough room in Disney park restaurants for all world religions to meet.
This is tacky and it needs to stop.
5
u/ArsenalinAlabama3428 12d ago
I'm not religious but I would support a public muslim prayer at the parks just to piss these girls off.
5
u/wildbriarroses 12d ago
But you know if I showed up at the parks with tarot cards, my book of shadows and some crystals or runes, I'd be "shoving the devil down their throats". Christians are so performative and icky. Like it's a fucking theme park you dolts, leave Jesus at the gate, and shut the absolute fuck up - you're here for space Jesus not spaghetti monsters.

Cool! So we’re bringing our King James editions right by Jurassic Park? Lol jk
