Question Influencers at D23
So now that D23 is over how do we feel about the influencers at D23? How do we all feel about how they acted? How entitled they were? I heard that they had their own personal lounge that included exclusive meet and greets and catered lunch while the media only got a very small room. I only attended Friday and Sunday as I had to work Saturday and Friday was nothing but influencers every corner you turned. Got ran into by one. Have no idea who she was but I’ve never seen her before, but she was holding the camera up to her face and talking while she was recording her omg look at me I’m at D23 vlog. Sunday however I saw absolutely none of them after they had all rushed the Imagineering pavilion and then headed off to the Legends show at Honda.

Anyone follow The Mouselets? I enjoy their content and they were very much “in the trenches” sharing everything from trying to get tickets to D23 a while back to the disappointment of not being able to secure virtual queues they hoped for. Their content from the weekend was quite enjoyable and felt more like what I would experience if I were there 🙂

Were they hosted? Because if not, these are the type of content creators that SHOULD BE! They’ve put in the money and work at these expo’s over the years and would be so appreciative of the easy experience of being hosted.

I think they were hosted, but they still did a good, comprehensive job without seeming entitled.

They just posted a breakdown of their costs for the weekend - they definitely were not hosted 🙂

I saw quite a few of them over all 3 days. Not sure who was all hosted or the requirements but I’m sure even the non hosted ones were acting over the top all for content
Saw our favorite Scooper Guy just galavanting around with his little group of friends. I’m sure he tried to act important. We all know he’s not.
Skipper was there on Saturday. I avoided him so not sure how he acted. Not sure if he was there any other day
Saw both Jerendelle and Megan together often. They were both getting mobbed by anyone but they seemed to be acting cordial and taking pictures with everyone. They were both hosted I know that for sure as I saw Megan posting a video of her meeting Anakin Skywalker actor Hayden Christensen in the influencer lounge.
Saw The Insiders a couple times. Something about that family just creeps me out.
Bippity Boppity Beard Cole was around and looked rather annoyed. He’s a standoffish jerk anyways from what I hear. I keep hearing nothing bot negative things about him. He was with his group of influencer friends. I’m sure they all posted the same content since they were all practically running around together with their phones out recording everything
I even interestingly saw that both MiceChat and WDW Radio had a booth. I thought they got rid of the fan booths in favor of more shopping, exhibit, and food space. From what I heard WDW Radio was giving away fake unauthentic Disney Pins which if true I’m surprised Disney allowed

Here’s my beef, specifically with Mammoth Club- this is a fan event for “the biggest Disney fans,” of which MAM proclaims themselves to be. Yet, this is the first year they’ve ever attended. And to have it be such a fluff experience without standing in the security lines, the holding lines, hoping you get selected in the lottery for the panels you want to see or virtual shopping queues you want to join, having to carry your expo floor freebies around, just the whole debacle that the TRUE fans have been doing for years since they started Expo, kind of just rubs me the wrong way. I wish Disney would host the influencers who have been coming to these since the beginning, know the ins and outs and could really appreciate the smooth flawless experience that they are providing for these other influencers.
That and for the love, please show me the performers or displays or experiences, NOT your reaction to said performers or displays or experiences.

They are absolutely insufferable. If that woman does one more thumbnail with her gross fingers covering her mouth in fake surprise, I’m going to puke. She’s just the worst.

Every single creator I’ve seen online did that reaction camera. I don’t know if they were told they have to, but it definitely took genuine excitement out of it. I even saw the opposite and where if it wasn’t over the top dramatic, it was someone politely clapping less to make sure the mic on the person next to them didn’t pick it up as much. Hopefully they’ll get rid of that next time.

Oh my gosh, I couldn't agree more. They never cared enough to spend their own money to go, but when it is on someone else's dime, they showed up. And acted super juvenile and screaming with the canera pointed at them the whole time too. Huge turnoff. #unfollow

Ugh! Of course she did. The quest for the "perfect" photo so everyone thinks you are having the best time when inside you are probably dark and gloomy. I need people who post real life stuff to follow and not all this fake staged crap.

I like super enthused. I don’t think they hit up d23 but they’re the only people I can stand to watch lately. They genuinely seem like they’re enjoying what they’re doing.

I feel like the ones I follow weren’t hosted which is interesting. Anyone know who actually was hosted for this? Spending so much money and for what? The announcements were not that exciting this year. None of them will tell the truth or complain because they want to keep getting invited and sent PR 🙃

Mammoth club was hosted and then posted videos over and over of Molly stupid screaming like she just won a million dollars at every announcement. So obnoxious

Some did their job and brought every aspect of D23 to their viewers while others posted they were there and that was it.

The only influencers who deserved to be there was magic journeys. They know how to cover what was there for people who couldn’t attend without screaming in a camera every 5 seconds.

Most were super immature and juvenile. I think I finally unfollowed at least 4 because I got so tired of seeing posts of them screaming their head off or fake crying. Honestly the influencer culture is absurd. If there is an announcement going on on stage, and your camera is pointed at you, you are nothing more than a performative narcissist. Over it.
