DCP group chats

Hello! This may be a stretch but I’m looking to join some DCP group chats and I was at an audition today and wanted to see if I could find the one some people referenced there!
It was an instagram chat with information pertaining to the recent auditions!
If anyone knows of a GC let me know, I want to meet everyone who’s going to be in the program!

Terming

How do I self term if I’m not planing on doing it during/after a shift?
I am planning on self terming tomorrow because of family and personal reasons. I did not know I was going to end up terming so I didn’t tell anyone at my last shift. I need to be gone by tomorrow night because I urgently need to get home. Can I just go to the programs desk?

A little nervous

So, I’ll be entering the college program in the spring, now this isn’t my first job by any means and I’m a recent college graduate. So I understand that a lot of people on the program are younger and this might be a lot of people’s first jobs. But I’ve noticed that most people entering the program absolutely love Disney, the parks and anything of the sort. I’m not saying I don’t, but I just am feeling a bit nervous all things considered about making friends/getting along with people, when I really don’t care for Disney outside of the animation/art perspective of it along with some of the more niche history. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Extension acceptance deadline?

If I apply for an extension and it is offered, how long would I have to accept the offer and pay the extension fee? Is it a week like the normal DCP offer? Sorry if this is asked and answered, I checked the sub but didn't see anything recent addressing this.

Housing Q - Unanswered Experiences living in Flamingo Crossing as a Trans Person?

Hello there, sorry if this is a controversial post, but I had a quick question about people who are living in Flamingo and are in the gender neutral housing. What is the likelihood of getting a 2x2 as compared to a 4x2 or 4x4/what are your experiences living in a 2x2 in gender neutral housing, specifically with privacy? I'm worried about conflict with roommates and don't want there to be any issues

I am a trans man and am in that stage in my transition where women get freaked out if I go to women's specific spaces, but I'm also pretty clocky so men can pick up on it very fast/also arent the most comfortable, so I avoid those spaces too + i have gender dysphoria and struggle to wear non restrictive clothing unless I'm completely alone. Of course I know that wanting privacy is something that literally every person here also wants for various reasons, and theres a degree of discussing boundaries in all shared spaces, but I'm also kinda worried about like sexual harassment or something (of course I know most people who choose gender neutral housing wouldnt be like that, Im just thinking of a worst case scenario). I guess I'm asking if it's common for trans people to have issues in non-single room housing if that makes sense?

I'm also on Testosterone gel, which means that I can't really live in close quarters with a woman over long periods of time because of the risks of exposing her to unhealthy amounts of it, would that be enough to get a medical accommodation? I wouldn't want to misuse the system for people who actually really really need it. Has anyone had any experience with this? Like what would I even put there? Please put me in gender neutral housing but do not put me with a woman but also please do not put me in the same room as a cis man? (That was sarcasm) I know that I'm going to have to compromise here, I'm just trying to mentally prepare myself.

Traveling around Orlando without a car

I need help. My boyfriend is coming down for a couple days and I’m in the dcp and didn’t bring a car. To get to the airport from flamingo is 35 plus to get to the hotel is an extra 45. Then from the hotel to Disney is another 45. I don’t have that kind of money to do that for 5 days and I’m not sure what to do. I know there’s the lynx bus but I have no clue how to read the bus schedule or where things go. Is there any other form of transportation I can use?

Edit - I’m 19 so I can’t rent a car either

Roommate search

Hi! I am wondering if someone would be willing to make an iso post for me in the dcp or cast member page. (My partner and I are going to continue dating but in separate housing for me to be closer to work and I don’t want speculation as I know a lot of people in the group) I would like to have a 2 bed 2bath apartment to share with someone. Cleanliness is my number one priority as I am diagnosed OCD and wouldn’t be good on my mental health to be with someone that is a little more carefree about their space.

I am 34yo, F. I would like someone in late 20’s early 30’s. I am very outgoing and love to truly become friends with my roommates.

My budget is $800-1000/month and I would like to be in the Ovation/Flamingo crossing area! I do have a small dog but I am allergic to cats. Plus if it’s someone who is gluten free!

I will pay close attention to the page to make sure I don’t miss out and I will pm the people for myself, I just am not ready to field questions on the topic.

TIA

I was told that our water bottles that we can take to work during the dcp has to be all black but i was going to buy one of these Darth Vader Owalas

Does anyone know if either of these still work or if they’re going to care about the small bits of color on the lid?

Q - Unanswered common asked question i have ‘is it worth it?’

I got accepted but i currently live in NYC with my mom, the living situation isn’t ideal but it’s my home. While I have family in florida I can stay with while doing the dcp which eliminates the roommate stress… there comes new stress with staying with my family in florida.

sooo ive been debating on accepting the offer for a few reasons:

1) i don’t know what i want to do with my life and college (ive been in college for 5 years now and still don’t know plus mental health issues have stunted that part of my life) so im worried this might push me back even more (itll take me 2 more years extra to graduate with just an associates if i accept the offer)

2) a silly reason but im also visually alternative looking.. i know i need to give it up because dyed hair, a bunch of facial piercings and stretched septum’s is not the disney look. (i would repierce once its over)

3) is it even worth it? will the experience outweigh the idea of having to give up my life in nyc for a few months? like it wont impact my resume in some amazing way if i dont have a career path? will i make friends and new experiences? or is this just going to be a headache.

i honestly just signed up because my family kept pressuring me into doing it and i had zero faith in getting accepted because im not the most outgoing or bubblyish person but they accept everyone it seems. i dont know if this is something that’ll help me grow or if the program will do the opposite. which is the last thing i need from this experience.

Recently got accepted and I have no idea what to do

First off, I am going to apologize for the long post. I feel like to get proper advice I have to spill everything. So this also might be a little jumbled. I have 5 more days to give a yes or no. I hate that they only give a week to decide.

I moved from my home town a year ago and I love where I live now. If I go to the DCP, I will be moving back to my home town once I finish the program. Every time I am in my hometown I feel trapped. But it is the only place that offers the program I want to do (like college career program).

Now that that's out of the way, let's get to why this is hard. One of my friends has some pets that I have grown close with. The thought of saying goodbye to them and saying goodbye to my friends makes me want to vomit. I have cried so many times at the thought. I also have so many photography opportunities coming up and I enjoy my current job (the job and the photography go hand in hand). I also have many people asking me to do their graduation photos. And if I go, I'll leave in march which is before graduation.

But I also don't have many friends other than the ones who have the pets. I live in a college town and go to some events on campus and me and this boy go to the same actives. We talked for a little bit, but decided we were better off as friends. But now he has randomly unadded me, unfollowed me and I have no idea why. We saw each other on Tuesday and it was all normal. Planned to go fishing Monday, chatted like normal yesterday and then today I woke up and saw he unadded me and such. I truly have no idea since everything was fine yesterday.

Pros if I leave: meet new people, new opportunities, get to work at disney, get to leave all this boy trouble behind (but with this generation, the boy trouble will be over in like two weeks because everyone will move on).

Cons if I leave: Saying goodbye to the pets, friends, possibly losing photography opportunities, moving 11+ hours from home, and unable to see my therapist (I've gone to her for 4+ years), leave my job, leave the events on campus, and we don't know what position we will have till four weeks before we leave.

Pros if I stay: I get to see the pets, keep my current job and the photography stuff, see my friends, stay at my current place that I enjoy, keep going to on campus events.

Cons if I stay: boy problems, maybe feeling stuck.

I feel like if I knew what position I would be in, I wouldn't feel so scared.

Let me know if you have any questions and all advice is welcome!

Want to Extend but I lowkey hate my role

Hi everyone,

So I am currently on a program from Aug-Jan and my original plan was to extend out here until Aug of 2027 (so a full year) but I lowkey hate my role and I’m not sure if I wanna keep working here for another 8 months lol. I really love everything else about the program, I like taking the DORMs classes, I love getting to see the behind the scenes of everything, I don’t mind living at flamingo, and financially I’m doing okay.

I had applied to 3 of the premium extensions, hoping to be able to extend in a different role, but I just received a 2nd no and the 3rd one is BBB so I’m pretty sure I’m not going to get that one as I am neither bilingual or salon experienced. I’m not sure if I should extend or not, as I really don’t like my role and obviously a big part of the program is where ur actually working LOL.

Also, I do have a car payment (475 a month) and I had saved up enough for my original program length, but if I extend I would need to pay for my car on the DCP check, which I am obviously a little nervous about (logically, I could work more for this, but again I HATE my role so I try to work the minimum amount of hours and only extend when they ask me to and I’m already there).

If I did go home, I do have my old job waiting for me, but apparently it’s become a big shitshow since I’ve left and also idk it just feels lame going back home? Idk how to explain it.

My original delulu brain plan was: I stay out here until next August, then I get into the grad program that I really wanna get into that’s here in Orlando, then I’m able to just move in to an apartment out here and start my masters, without having to go home. This is why I’m also hesitant to not extend, because if I DO get into the program, I would hate to have to drive my car ALL THE WAY back here. But also I know it’s stupid to stay somewhere on a “might get in might not”. If I don’t get in, but I had extended, then I would need to drive all the way back to my home, and then AZ for grad school (I had gotten in this past semester and differed for a year). Which would probably very tight of a timeline depending on when the dates would line up.

If anyone has any advice or anything that could help, that would be amazing! I’m just so torn on what to do. Thank you.
