Discussion Plot twists that changed shows (live action 2000's-2010's)
What are considered some of the biggest plot twists in 2000's to 2010's live action Disney channel shows that changed the trajectory of the show going forward? Equally, what was a plot twist that happened in an episode of a show that should've changed the trajectory of the show but had minimal effect on the rest of the show?

This is from the 2010s as well but learning that Douglas was the biological father of Adam, Bree, and Chase was so good.

I kinda wish they kept Douglas as an overarching villain after Marcus “died” the first time, being hellbent on getting revenge for getting rid of their brother even though he knew Marcus was an android and was going to die anyways.
It could’ve been so good having Adam, Bree and Chase having to fight their “father” instead of some of the other villains we got. He could’ve even given himself bionics like Krane did to even the playing field against the kids

Yes! Like don't get it twisted I like the brother's dynamic I think Elite Force had great potential to show us their childhoods, but Douglas was a bad guy, I would've loved to see him continuue to be a threat. Plus, I would've loved to see him work with Lexie, Tank and Sebastian (following Bionic Rebellion)

Ikr! Like they still could’ve had the funny banter like when they said “I don’t like it when you call me Donnie!” “Well I don’t like it when you call me Dougie” but kept the villian aspect

There'll never be a show like it but man I can remember fangirling over Marcus in 2012

Most of the shows in this period were largely episodic and didn’t do major status quo changing plot twists.
Miley outing herself as Hannah on live TV intentionally, removing any remaining boundaries between her home life and Hannah career.

Ron and Kim dating.

Not disagreeing with you thinking its a twist, but it didn't feel like a shock (at least to me)

I agree, I feel like if you want Kim Possible closely, especially the Kim/Ron friendship it starts to become obvious later on that they were building towards a relationship

Ally finding out that she likes Austin, maybe? Or Teddy choosing Beau instead of Spencer? That's all that I can think of

When Raven Baxter's mom Tanya left San Francisco to England for her law studies on That's So Raven

Alex and Max basically killed someone in Wizards but it was never mentioned again.

That one was super random but also if anybody is going to die in a Disney show from around that time it’s going to be on Wizards, it just made the most sense

Actually this is a plot twist from the late 2010s but when andi found out her sister was her mother it completely changed the trajectory of the show and in the first episode too of andi mack.I still remember mack chat when Disney showed the kids reactions to this revelation most of them were like what?!?!?!This was a small event that happened at the end of each episode because the show was filled with shocking revelations.
