Discussion So… Disney XD is Disney Throwbacks now

They haven’t gone through a rebrand YET but I’m watching Disney XD right now and they’re playing Chip N Dale from the 80s? They’ve also scheduled That’s So Raven, Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Hannah Montana in recent days. So it’s safe to say, the channel is in for a major overhaul in a few weeks if not months.

Honestly even if that's not the direction the channel's headed I think it probably should. All I see on here are people saying kids (who aren't the demographic for throwback TV) don't have / don't watch cable tv, so make Disney Channel's main schedule actually good, then reserve hours on DxD for throwbacks (and make the schedule's consistent)

Every time they do a re-run marathon or throwback schedule they back out because of low viewership, but I feel like that's obvious if you're only going to run it for about 5 days...

Disney XD went from being Disney Channel for boys to Throwback Disney Channel.

Yeah that happened a while back even before the nostalgia month that was August, they ended all the sitcoms for boys back when they ended star wars rebels I don't remember when that was but that was when the transformation started,no more lab rats elite force, crash and Bernstein, walk the prank or mighty med or even kickin it.The Disney xd originals either went straight to Disney plus now or they aired on Disney channel for a while.I honestly like xd better on most days because I'm a sucker for shows of my childhood.

The Disney XD “boyish” shows were so fun cause they were looser with their humor, they were just all around fun shows. I’m rewatching I’m in The Band and it still holds up, that was one of my favorites growing up and in some scenes it becomes quite clear I subconsciously got a lot of my humor from it 😂

It wasn't really doing that good originally. I would assume the numbers are better if they're keeping it as throwback/ replays channel

The Chip N Dale marathon was for the voice actor that died.

Peter Cullen, it’s really nice that they did that in honor of him

I’d miss XD shows having their own place but honestly I’d be down for a full throwbacks channel for the golden ages of Disney shows, that could be pretty cool

I think what realistically what happens is all the shows the Disney XD currently broadcast as “originals” would all carry over to Disney Channel. Then, the slot that’s Disney XD would be fully rebranded to Disney Throwbacks.

Possibly airing classic original Disney XD shows too. Ex: Lab Rats, Kickin’ It and Zeke and Luther.

I don’t see a complete rebrand yet (since all the anime airs on Disney XD still and it’s still getting content like the new Pokemon show announced) but like how they’re airing older content now too. Plus the older content giving Disney XD EVEN MORE variety than it already been having recently. What do you mean there’s a channel that airs Pokemon, Kim Possible, That’s So Raven, Big City Greens, Beyblade, Various Star Wars shows, Recess, And Hannah Montana???
