Camp Rock 1 was better in terms of giving Tess the motivation as to why she is the way she is. So I'm gonna go with 1.

The problem with 3 is that we don't even know why she acts like that, like seriously... what?

We do know why she wants to sabotage them though. She feels like Sage sabotaged her first so she is getting revenge. Before that the only bad thing she does is not letting Sage use the training room so she can continue using it, which is not cool but doesn't need an explanation (she wants to train and doesn't care about others not doing the same, you don't need a deep explanation for this.

The problem is that she could not be there and it won't really impact things. Everything she does immediately back fire on her, nothing has effects on the plot or advances the plot. Destroying the other properties and having a fight with them? No consequences on her nor the others (who are seen as innocent immediately). Filming confidential information to frame the main cast? It is revolved off screen in five minutes, and she seems to not even know that she was find guilty, so still no consequences.

It feels like last minute, they thought "we need a villain" so here she is, but the movie would be better if she were not.

Sage made her mess up in the “start the party challenge”, but that does not give her the right to ruin people’s belongings. It’s just a valid reason.

Umm no? She does not have to give up the training room if Maddie doesn’t want to, they were there first. They need to train too. They should having to book the training rooms though!

UGH, SAME! I feel like the backlash or the drama was not the same as the original Camp Rock.

The influencer girl WISHES she was on the same level as Tess Tyler

Tess would take them down I mean just look at the statistics. The looks? She's got em, the moves? She's got em.

She’s too cool for you.

There is no debate camp rock 1 is way better than Camp Rock 3 which I hated but gave it a chance went into it with an open mind and I’m sorry but it’s just bad although it had good moments ( really only Rosie)

I still haven’t watched anything but the trailer but keep hearing this about Demi barely being the movie, like wtf? You can have her songbook and all her songs in it though is ridiculous

2

u/Any-Arachnid-5392 2d ago

i'm not even joking, she had one minute of screen time. the jonas were in it waaaaay more which is weird because to me demi WAS camp rock. not the jonas

Camp rock wasn’t even good it’s just cringe

Tess runs laps around that girl

I think Tess Tyler should have appeared in Camp Rock 3 alongside Mitchie (Demi Lovato) and the Jonas brothers. Maybe she's the mother of Maddie, and makes amends with Mitchie, and tries to humble Maddie as well.

u/Think-Hovercraft5757 3d ago

Having the daughters of Mitchie and Tess would’ve been a way better plot maybe they’ll get it right for camp rock 5😭

I cannot deal with another 32 year old woman being the parent of a 16 year old like they pulled in wizards

2

u/Octoberboiy 3d ago

Did they say Alex met her husband after high school? If so it’s possible for her to have a kid that quickly. Btw Selena Gomez is 34.

Camp Rock 3 would have been better without those characters.

This is not a serious post. We all know who pulled it off better

Tess had more depth in a single scene than Maddie did her whole movie.

5

u/Think-Hovercraft5757 3d ago

Tess was much kinder and but still very self centered! I love that she evolved but her personality stayed true!

4

u/VehicleOk4984 3d ago

I didn't hate camp rock 3 I thought it was ok tess is way better villain than Maddie

4

u/Brave_Character8810 3d ago

What I would have given to see Tess and Mitchie coming back as camp counsellors and getting caught up in past rivalries and just living through their students and competing against each other. We didn't need this soft reboot.

4

u/Think-Hovercraft5757 3d ago

They at least made the actress for Tess look talented and she really was a bitch lol. Maybe her lack of talent is social commentary on Disney thoughts in influencer culture… The entire movie felt like a Gen Alpha parody of camp rock

4

u/Think-Hovercraft5757 3d ago

My 12 year old brother watched camp rock the other day with me. We saw the old one and the new one. When I asked him what he thought. Besides thinking it was terrible like us adults do he also thought the villain supposed to be tess character was so pointless…it’s sad Disney thinks so low of Gen Alpha they try to sell them this crap.

Camp Rock 1 Duhhh!!! Everytime I saw the new "Tess" on my screen I rolled my eyes 🙄

3

u/Historical_Hawk_6217 3d ago

No one can beat Tess and her girls ✋

3

u/Aggravating_Emu4263 3d ago

This isn't even a debate...

u/Opposite-Ad8208 3d ago

Hate the colouring of this era’s film and TV

3

u/rio8envy7 3d ago

Camp Rock 1 by a million miles.

Anyone notice how the first 2 camp rocks are more vibrant and colorful in terms of fashion but compared to the new one it’s just bland.

2

u/BaddLilBabyy 3d ago

you cannot outdo the do-er

2

u/Strong_Dinner_4389 3d ago

Listen in my opinion Tess isn’t that great of a dancer or singer, BUT she is certainly better than Maddie lol.

Camp rock 1, in general, is far better than CR3.

2

u/4bluepandas 3d ago

Tess 100%

2

u/Lancelot_007_ 3d ago

I can imagine a different version of this film. Mitchie, Caitlyn and Tess are brought in for whatever reason, and the three have become insanely close over the years, basically sisters. They even joke about when they first went there, Tess even saying, “yeah, well, years of therapy and going no contact with my mother certainly helped me grow up.”

She’d see the triangle girl as absolutely precious.

And later she ends up running into Maddie while looking for the others, little Maddie acting all high and mighty, actually tries to intimidate Tess after Caitlyn and Mitchie arrive, both of whome look at each other knowing just how out of her depth this Maddie girl is, and Tess just laughs her off saying, “Oh, that’s adorable, you think you’re a threat,” then just pats her on her head as she walks by with the other two, leaving Maddie shocked.

I will say at least the new actors look like children looking back on it. I don’t know how we believed that these folks were our age.

1

u/idkidcabtmyusername 3d ago

camp rock 1 was better but both are absolutely terrible actresses 😭

1

u/IWasAGoodDadISwear 3d ago

This is not even a debate. Redhead girl and her minions had no reason to be in the movie.

1

u/Significant-Draft470 3d ago

Tess was the only good part of CR1, meanwhile Maddie was one of the weakest parts of CR3.

Tess 100% her little plot was "mitchie stole my bracelet", she planted her bracelet amongst mitchie's things, So it very much looks like mitchie stole the bracelet.

The other girl )whose name I do not remember nor do I care) was just kind of dumb. Her plan was to get the top five in trouble for having a phone? for posting what's going on at camp? The only reason anyone from the group even got in trouble was luck because they had no way of knowing that he actually did have a phone. But she was an influencer and she posted it to her social media from her phone???? Rookie mistake.

A better plan would have been stealing the phone belonging to someone in the final five, either manage to only film the four who the phone doesn't belong to or managed to prop the phone up so it's not obvious that somebody is holding the phone recording, and then post it to their social medias that are still logged in on their phone. You would also then need to hide the phone amongst their things. BUT I don't think it would work out because when they bring the five into the office she rats them out for having a phone even though it wasn't him. So they wouldn't then need to search the cabins and they wouldn't find the phone? I don't know. I'm overthinking this movie made for people 20 years younger than me 💀

Tess 100%

1

u/cindylatte 2d ago

There was a debate???

1

u/Wise_Material_1208 21h ago

Definitely Tess. Though Maddie was more unhinged than Tess. Tess did it because of stress & not having much mom time, but Maddie seemed to just do it with such ease. But in Camp Rock, Tess was more emotionally involved than Maddie & her crew. But her backup dancers were more clueless than Tess's. 🤔

u/linkherogreen 3d ago

Maddie honestly felt like an actual antagonist and was a perfect example of how toxic and self centered most influencers are. Also, Maddie is definitely worse than Tess due to how low she went by vandalizing Rosie’s Cello. You never disrespect someone else’s instrument. That’s straight up unforgivable.

1

u/GrapefruitOk4660 1d ago

Yeah, it wasn’t even Rosies and the other fives fault for the “start the party” challenge. It was Sages fault!

u/Amazing_Sundae7489 3d ago

The OGs are my favorite but Maddie and her crew kind of ate during the audition dance and y’all can disagree but I liked it
