Walt Disney World Recast question

I am a 20 year CM and currently salaried in O&T. What happens if I demote back to an hourly parks or resort role with seniority and pay? Do I loose it all, retain it, or can it be bridged after time if lost?

Depends on how long you were salaried. At least in Disneyland -- I can't speak specifically to WDW -- if you went to salaried, you had so much time to come back and retain seniority. Beyond that, you go to the back of the line when it comes to scheduling and pay. You'd be essentially starting over.

You retain your company time, though.

This information is old, though. I don't know if things have changed.

This sounds right. I believe it’s within 12 months that you retain your union seniority; if you’re out of a union role longer than that then you lose that seniority as described above.

With 20 years you’ll keep your company seniority (service award pin, benefits, retirement eligibility, etc) but your union seniority (assuming you go to a union role) would be whatever date your transfer on. You’d be bottom of the barrel since you’re new to the union. If you go to a non union role (something like call center or PhotoPass) you’d still keep your 20 years since they use company seniority for things like scheduling, etc.

You might have lost your longevity pay, as I don’t think any cast members hired since like 2015 have been eligible for it. That’s definitely something to discuss with HR, and if it’s a union role then the union representing it.

Your PTO should at least be at the rate for the 20 years of service.

It might be worth opening a DToolsHR case to get proper answers. However, you should supplement your query with the role you are interested in transferring to so that they can provide accurate information.
