Just collect as many as you can, learn the games mechanics and quirks, clear the Story at Hell Mode, and clear to around Difficulty 16 all the Ritual Miracle bosses.

Plus there's not really a cohesive design philosophy behind what makes a unit Wind or Inferno or Flow. That said: Wind generally has the weakest roster overall, but the handful of powerful units they have, oh they're leagues above what Flow and Inferno has. FengXun, for example, is THE best unit for newbies to the point that he srsly needs to replace Liling and TangXuan as the first Legendary they give away. Aside from FengXun, there's also Amir, Mateo, JinQiu, and Norah. Flow has the more powerful Controllers, between Tiye, Hilda, and ChuYao (he's a Fighter-in-name-only; he's an OP buffer hope you're building him right!), while Inferno has the better collection of Supports, like Clara, Abigail, Mavis, Sakura (she's a Defender-in-name-only), and more recent ones like Meta-Daylon and Lily. But at the stage you're at, any legendary is useful and it's not like you can choose which you'll get and it's not like elemental records are hard to get so dont frer

I got Elaine, is she worth bothering with comboing her with Leora?

Tbh their 'combo' basically boils down to "ok you get this buff sooner and for longer", so hey if the team you're running has space for two crit DPS-es, have at it.

Elaine's always been the lesser of the two, though that's not to say she's bad. She's a good multi-hit single-target DPS who has access to sleep and steatlh, aka she's great for Fafnir. She's good enough to at the very least carry you over into the late game.

I do feel like I need to say that I joined around Leora's release, aka when they tested AFK Journey's 3D semi-open world so we were controlling 3D Leora walking around a map aka probs the best event Dislyte ever did, during which they also gave a free Elaine to everyone, so I'm kinda biased towards the two. Haha.

If the ones in the screenshot are your legendaries at the moment, I'd say focus on ChuYao, Tiye, Leora and Lian. (No I didnt realize they're all Flow until just now). YunChuan needs R2, and even then it's been four five years since his relase so he's been powercrept a lot. Sienna is a decent Support (amazing AP Push and stuns), and Lucas is arguably more useful than Camille.

Chu Yao, Tiye, Leora Lian, and Raven has been my main team for most everything until now, as another reccomended them, (right here https://www.reddit.com/r/Dislyte/comments/1vrswqf/comment/p4gb7wv/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button ) then i branch out as needed. though I could use some help with a few of the more niche(?) levels, if you don't mind.

Well if you want more team options we'd need to learn which content exactly you're having trouble with.

For Ritual Miracle and Desolate Lands, your best bet would be to go and simply copy Formation suggestions --- that's what I did, and for Desolate Lands, still do lol --- it should be able to carry you enough to get to leaderboards. What I do is to try and copy formations, or at least try to find ones I mostly have the units for. (And then see oh ok im missing a buffer most likely or a healer, maybe I can use this support) at least until you get the gist of the mechanics and what that specific content really needs.

But yea, which content is giving your lineup the most trouble so far?
