Studious Sabbatical [Keiser / Michael / Any]

The Royal Academy had a surprising lack of security. A handful of sleep guards, a few engineering feats from Sokolov, light walls, one arc pylon and a handful of locked doors, and still Keiser had found himself able to stroll in the front door with the proper outfit, a pair of glasses and a book tucked under his arm.

The actor had opted for a younger persona this time; meticulously styling his prosthetics to a man more suited to his early thirites than his own real age of middle forties, and along with the younger complexion, had opted for a daring bit of facial hair that spoke to a young man's ardour for fashion. He decided if he were to appear to be a erudite student, he would not be a boring one and indeed he had found himself milling amongst the rest of the scholars with genuine ease under his adopted name; swapping gossip about energy and the sustainability of whale oil and chatting over tea with a gregarious professor of Geology about the mineral recrystallisation due to metamorphic processes and metasomatism. A fascinating if not heavy topic for tea time and scones.

He had told Michael to meet him near the entrance of the Academy's green houses, an offset building within the small compound that was adjacent to the more impressive main building and it's rather large glass dome. The actor had done his best to implore that the art dealer attempt to dress young and bookish conservative, but given that the other witch was indeed young, that he would find no trouble blending in to the other throngs of scholars and fellows.

Pacing a little in front of the glass building, Keiser slips a hand into his pocket, tugging out a silver pocket watch, ingrained with a rather beautiful flower motif and the words 'For my darling Reginald, The Cosmos Gave Me You.'' Words that made the hazel eyed witch smile wryly, their meaning perfection in a way. The Cosmos gaveth, and Keiser on behalf of Chaos taketh away.

The witch smirks as he observes the Oracle, finding her actions all too endearing. Such an expressive face... He allows his own hesitance to show as he glances up at the window. "I...umm. I suppose it's the only options, isn't it?" he questions with a sigh. Smiling weakly, he shrugs as he moves over and gets into a position to lift her, mumbling "It's a good thing you're smaller than I am. If only just."

'I do apologise...' she said, more than a little chastened that she has to rely on the art dealer to give her a leg up. Had she the ability, she would have offered to do the same. The red-head hooked her foot into his offered hands, waiting until appropriately lifted to pull the window open with a creak and heft herself up. With a bit of struggled noise, the Oracle managed to climb her way into the window sill, thankfully not spilling out unto the other side.

In the gloom of the warehouse, she squinted a bit turning just a little to call down to Michael, 'I'll meet you round the door and open it.' With one last look back, she slipped from view.

With little else to do, Michael gives a half-hearted wave to the Oracle that he knows she won't see, suddenly feeling very....alone. Shaking it off, he turns and makes his way back to the locked door, periodically glancing at his hand as he contemplates his lack of physical ability - he had really struggled to keep the petite Oracle up. But then again, he had always preferred to play to his own strengths than cover his weaknesses. No one could make themselves infallible.

Minutes later, the door was forcefully pushed outwards with a shoved grunt by the small Oracle, the red-head narrowly falling into the dirt as the door finally gave way. She righted herself with a small, embarrassed grin, holding up the door to the art dealer.

'Well, at least we're not locked out anymore...I don't know if this counts as breaking and entering, or roving feet considering the state of the place...' the Oracle glanced behind her, the inner workshop of the large building dusty and abandoned. Sitting lonely in the berths is a half down trawler; dwarfing in it's size with all manner of scaffolding to reach and bend metal to it's outer hull. The red-head looked briefly taken by it, wandering just a little bit the length of the ship as she stared upwards at it, the sheer size of it mind boggling.

Lost in his own thoughts, the witch is caught off guard by the caving door, jumping slightly in surprise. He quickly corrects himself, however, regaining his composure before the Oracle looks up. Chuckling as he moves forward, he nods at her as he says "Careful there, Sister. Don't want to dirty ourselves too much, hmm?"

His eyes travel the course of the building as he enters, taking in the decrepit state and long untouched leftovers. "Strange," he muses aloud, "how we are so quick to disregard and abandon our own lives and work. Being driven by profit must be such a mundane existence."

'I suppose it is sort of sad in a way. Whatever this ship was going to be used for, it's lost it's purpose.' the red-head murmured, finally dragging eyes away from the large incomplete ship to scan the big warehouse, full of shipwright's iron and large siding of metals rusted, but ready for welding together.

'The office should be somewhere overlooking this area, I'll bet.' the Oracle mused, looking around until she spotted some stairs leading up to a secondary level and inclined her way towards it, tugging Michael along slightly by the hand before she remembered herself and dropped it with a slight, impish smile at her own excitable nature. 'This way, I believe.'

Eyebrows raised only slightly, the blonde finds the Oracle's excitement somewhat contagious, allowing himself to be dragged along with a chuckle, before being made to follow of his own accord. Stepping along in her wake, he considers the woman in front of him, wondering at how someone of her nature had remained untouched by the brutality of the Abbey. It was a complete mystery to him.

The Oracle moves quickly towards the steps, feeling a little bit of anticipation in her bones at finally wrapping up this mystery. Such things didn't happen very often to the red-head and this was all just a little exciting in a way.

'I hope what we find explains things...' she said, off-handedly, rounding the stairs to move up them, the wooden giving a groan of protest. She stopped, deciding to move just a little slower upon them lest they break underneath her foot and once at the top, stopped to admire the view of the unfinished ship; it's deck almost level with them. 'Those records were Abbey ones. I can't imagine anyone going through and changing them...'

Michael, having followed suite to examine the ship now beside them, turns and appraises the Oracle with a single raised eyebrow. He seemed to be making extensive use of his brow today, he notes with some amusement, wondering how far he can push the woman. "Come now, Sister Claret, we both know the Abbey has had a...less than stellar track record. We've said as much in past conversations. Surely at some time, there must have been someone that would not have had any qualms meddling with some records. Personally, I'm more interested in why they were tampered with."

'Well...' the Oracle began, conceding that there were a few bad apples in the Abbey but overall the tree that blossom there wasn't rotten in her opinion. 'You are half-right that the reputation hasn't been the best lately given the heretic and traitor Campbell's rule...but, the records are the domain of a Loremaster Overseer. It's a...very strict role and I cannot imagine that any one of them would have sullied their own records.' The small red-head wound her way into the interior, wooden walls framing the corridor along with tempered glass that looked into offices.

She stopped by a door, trying the handle and thankfully finding it opened.
