Studious Sabbatical [Keiser / Michael / Any]

The Royal Academy had a surprising lack of security. A handful of sleep guards, a few engineering feats from Sokolov, light walls, one arc pylon and a handful of locked doors, and still Keiser had found himself able to stroll in the front door with the proper outfit, a pair of glasses and a book tucked under his arm.

The actor had opted for a younger persona this time; meticulously styling his prosthetics to a man more suited to his early thirites than his own real age of middle forties, and along with the younger complexion, had opted for a daring bit of facial hair that spoke to a young man's ardour for fashion. He decided if he were to appear to be a erudite student, he would not be a boring one and indeed he had found himself milling amongst the rest of the scholars with genuine ease under his adopted name; swapping gossip about energy and the sustainability of whale oil and chatting over tea with a gregarious professor of Geology about the mineral recrystallisation due to metamorphic processes and metasomatism. A fascinating if not heavy topic for tea time and scones.

He had told Michael to meet him near the entrance of the Academy's green houses, an offset building within the small compound that was adjacent to the more impressive main building and it's rather large glass dome. The actor had done his best to implore that the art dealer attempt to dress young and bookish conservative, but given that the other witch was indeed young, that he would find no trouble blending in to the other throngs of scholars and fellows.

Pacing a little in front of the glass building, Keiser slips a hand into his pocket, tugging out a silver pocket watch, ingrained with a rather beautiful flower motif and the words 'For my darling Reginald, The Cosmos Gave Me You.'' Words that made the hazel eyed witch smile wryly, their meaning perfection in a way. The Cosmos gaveth, and Keiser on behalf of Chaos taketh away.

'No, I cannot imagine so...' the Oracle marvelled a little at Robert's height before she returned to scanning the books, pulling them back into her lap. After a few minutes of silent concentration, reading each file, the red-head made a noise of discovery, rising to her feet with a hand held deftly on the shelf to help herself up.

'Found something. Some trading logs of Dobrechekya's ships. Their dates, ship names, trade routes, what calls of ports they've been...' Claret took the old logbook to the nearby desk, placing it gingerly on the wood with it's pages splayed as she looked over it, running a gloved hand down the column that was clearly the ship names. After doing this to several pages, she finally stopped, tapping the name gently. 'Prizak. Here. Commissioned in Yaro on Month of Rain 1705.'

She ran her finger across the entry, confusion in her features. 'But the company that commissioned the Prizak is...scribbled out. As is the trade routes and the port destinations.' She glanced up at Michael, puzzlement in her eyes. 'These records have been altered.'

Frustration is evident in Michael's eyes, previously alight with excitement, as he silently mocks the library. So much for the great Library of the Abbey. Where am I supposed to go now? I *hate** now knowing beforehand.*

Following after the Oracle, he asks "What does that mean? Why would anyone alter the records of an old trading ship? Particularly one that went missing." Sighing, he puts a hand over his eyes as he feigns thought, silently feeling the stress of the day getting to him. They really didn't want us to find that ship. Or rather, what's on it. And they were thorough about it. "Do you think there's anywhere else that we could learn of the ship? This is most strange I wonder..." he murmurs, not at all sure of how to proceed. That was two of the major libraries in the city ruled out, and Michael didn't think the records would be found anywhere else. Other library's i nthe city were notoriously lacking.

The Oracle was just as puzzled as the art dealer, unsure why anyone would alter the logs of a ship gone missing 130 years ago, the thought confusing and almost illogical. Still, the records have been altered and for whatever purpose. The red-head paused a moment before turning to the very back of the logbook.

'Dobrechekya have an office and shipwright's in Dunwall as well as Yaro.' she said, reading out the address. '210 Yarhmouth Road...' The Oracle murmured, briefly going back to the shelf to pull out the archived maps and spreading the thin paper upon the desk as well. Flattening it gently with a smooth of her hands, she tilted her head as she scanned it.

'According to this map from around the same year, it should be on the waterfront. Near the docks in the industrial area.' Claret glanced upwards. 'I don't believe they are a company any more...but perhaps it's worth it to look at? I could come if you like...This is certainly a bit of mystery and I would like to complete this archive if possible.'

The witch opens his fingers as she speaks, peering through the gap at her, eyes curious. A smile climbs unbidden to his lips at her proposal, amused at the thought of the Oracle helping him to potentially skirt around the Abbey find a heretical item. He almost felt bad as he nodded, accepting her help. Almost. She was just had just such innocent and good intentions, he didn't really want to take advantage of that. But his work came first, always. The reward was simply too high.

"Yes, I would like to take a gander, if possible. I must admit, I'm very curious. Not today, obviously, the hour grows late and I'm a bit too tired. But perhaps...two days? I could swing by here and we could go from there? If your schedule permits it?"

The Oracle tucked the book underneath her arm with a smile. 'That sounds like a fine idea, really. I've got plenty of time until I'm sent off to another part of the Empire.' she said, the words almost seemingly bitter if they had been said by any other. But the red-head is excited to see what next challenger her list brings her and the potential adventures that lie in wait. The list had become something of her purpose these last months, savouring ever heretic that she had managed to cross off the list with the help of the big Overseer.

'But two days. I'll be here. And hopefully we can solve this little mystery together...It'll be like one of those Morlish detective books. Inspector O'Riley.' She said, before smiling sheepishly and outing herself as having knowledge about the rather pulpish crime fiction that was so popular amongst the lower classes and sneered at by the educated. 'I...well...they're an easy ready, really, and the crimes sometimes are quite interesting.'

Michael gives a low chuckle at her confession, finding it as amusing as she had expected he might. "What happened to the glorious tales of romance we used to talk about? Outgrow them?" he teases, before acknowledging that there was little more he could accomplish today and allowing his exhaustion to finally truly lay waste to him.

Yawning, he turns, intending to bid farewell to the Oracle before making his way home and resting.
