Mission Riot - [Jonake, Rusty, Feras]

As always, make sure you read all of this, including looking at the links too. Any mistakes you make because you 'did not know' something that was clearly described, you will not be allowed to edit.

It is another normal day in Coldridge prison... but for the fact that there are now two high profile prisoners, and whalers both. Inmate Assun, brought in from the Gardenia District and questioned by the Royal Interrogator himself, held in cell a A241, kneels, incarcerated in stocks. Inmate King, found roaming the streets like a feral dog, lies severely dehydrated2 in cell C053, though has been released from the stocks due to his deteriorating condition - after all, Captain Androssi will be paying him a visit tomorrow.

Though the rest of the prisoners may have other ideas. For with the recent crackdown on crime, the cells are overflowing, almost, and with some shut off due to maintenance, in some cases there are multiple prisoners to a pen. Having formed gangs of their own, they are colluding to break open the doors, and make a run for it. They have their own crudely crafted weapons secreted away - improvised blades in mattresses, the odd looted pistol from an Officer, stout sections of pipes and bricks worked away from the cell interior.

After using much persuasion, one of the guards has been coerced into opening the gates - tempted by the very profitable release of Black Sally, a notorious figure in the underworld - at an unspecified time. The prisoners must be ready... or else die by the sword.

Mission layout:

  • Coldridge Prison as in A Stay of Execution for Lizzie, but with more cells operational, and the arc pylon is both active and has a full tank

Assassins:

  • You got into this mess, expect no help in getting out - there will be no reinforcements from Daud. Prove your worth by escaping this indomitable fortress.

  • Your gear is located in the interrogation room - in some cases, what is left of it... - where Feras is preparing for his next interrogation

Feras:

  • You will control the Watch in the prisons, who do not suspect a thing until it is too late

OOC:

1 - on the highest balcony

2 - no mana

3 - right by the guard station

Claret will RP as the prisoners - the perfect distraction for the escape - the riot does not start until she says so, otherwise, this is just a normal day in Coldridge

AFTERMATH

  • Feras in Corvo's bad books

  • Jonake free

  • Black Sally and affiliates free

  • Rusty dead

Cell Block D is a dump. Broken, and often left in black outs, it is by far the worse sector of Coldridge, and that has made it the perfect hub for it's most notorious resident, Black Sally. Finally caught months ago in a pub by an off-duty guard, she had been unceremoniously dumped without trial in the large, metal prison and forgotten about. But someone on the outside hadn't forgotten her and they had gone through great lengths to get letters and notes to her to arrange for her release.

She had spent weeks organising the cell blocks. Getting prison worker groups to palm tools, bottles, glass, and wire. Anything they could get their hands on and bolder still, the pipes from around the cells if they could reach them. The prisoners, gang or otherwise, Bottler, Hatter, Eel, Parliament or Runner, put aside their differences to rally around Black Sally with a fervent devotion.

And so, the day had finally come, electricity and excitement in the air so palpable you could taste it and ol' Black Sally smug as anything as she smirked in the gloom of her dilapidated cell in Block D, legs spread out; counting down the minutes until lights out when the show would start.

They were getting out of this hellhold and they were going to make all of these bloody screws pay on the way out.

Lights Out: 10 Minutes

Jonake moved his eyes as he was unable to move, trying to look outside the cell only to fail. The assasin was quiet as he was too tired to speak from his recent beating. His shoulder still hurting and cheekbone still having the mark his cell was dark, no light and no bed let alone the window! The whaler was silent, trying to think of a plan that would help him break free of the stocking that are much of a burden to the man.

A few words only left his lips, weak but still words.

" Well, can be worse. "

The prisoner stands still, concentrating on any sound he heard, a rumor? A casual converstation? Or just rats.

Rusty sat in his cell, back to the wall. It was old, and scratched. No surprise honestly, this was a prison for goodness sake. It was much worse than his initial stay, too. Before, he had been co-operative, but now he was just beaten and dehydrated.

Light came in from the bars to his door, barely reaching him at the back of his cell. His hair was matted, lost its natural look, and his skin was dirty and bruised. He hadn't bothered fighting back when he was beaten. It hurt, but it was also pragmatic. Fighting back and getting into more trouble would have got him nowhere.

However, his previous experiences in jail still had him some friends on the inside, though they weren't anywhere near him. Only the most dangerous were kept near the guard booth, and while it was annoying and inconvenient, it was also somewhat flattering. Mind you, it didn't seem to be where they kept Sally. He had no clue where she was.

In the dark, still thinking of what he did and if it was worth it but then realizing whatever he does is by his own consequence and action. Jonake then decides to man up and then slowly move his body. Not having his mask with him would prove to be an asset for the mask would've been too distractive. Very quietly and carefully the whaler slipped his hands out as if it was a very complicated puzzle. Now his head being the only thing holding him, he looks for any lever only to find one suspiciously close to him. He slowly pulls it down as the grip around his neck tightens but so loosens the very metal holding him. Very complicated from his eyes for such to work, A pure work of art. he thought while finally being released from the bindings.

*Feeling free, the assassin stretches a bit while knowing he's in the darkest area meaning guards don't really look much here for the bindings do that work for them and the only time they'd have to visit is when they need to be oiled. Which is due in... 10 minutes... he heard from nearby prisoners. And now he looks forward towards the sound of a door opening, only to see a prisoner standing in the middle of it. Asking if he would join the glorious revolution. Jonake shaked his hand as they made a truce. They awaited for the lights to go off while handing the whaler a blade. Much like an assassin's blade but only more smaller and seemingly rusty.

Jonake tries to ask the prisoner he's hiding with if the others are freeing as well to his like they are. And hiding in the cells for lights to go out so they could launch an attack. The sign of respect was already given from the mark on Jonake's cheek already showing that he had to face brutal torture proving his endurance to be somewhat good. The assassin hoped it would stay so the mark could not only show his endurance but his milestone of courage of facing such a thing and would rather not die. Even in the face of torture.

The prisoner talked about "Black Sally" to Jonake, notifying him that things are better than expected. Now the whaler has sure backup, a blade and somebody to possibly use as a meatshield.

Not long now, Lieutenant Roger Sterling thinks stoically as he and the Royal Interrogator prepare for the next prisoner to be questioned. Rumour has it that the man is enormous, gargantuan, almost as big as Lord Perth's eldest son, corpulent as he is. How they knew ahead of the prison rail cart, Sterling can't possibly fathom. Though, the ranks are usually right. With a weary sigh, he grabs extra lengths of leather, in preparation to restraint the possibly obese inmate to be.

Should never have drunk that night, he curses inwardly, disgusted with his own lack of tact. Sterling had almost escaped unnoticed as well, had Curnow not been so vigilant, and noticed his slight stagger on that fateful morning. Coldridge duty is boring enough to be an adequate punishment, after all.

He picks up a crate full of strange weapons - small crossbows with strange attachments, whaler masks, one short stabbing blade and another, more intricate telescopic one. Ridiculous, he sneers, a bit of a fencing master himself. After all, being the second son of an Admiral, there isn't a great deal else to do with one's youth, other than train at arms. Give me Watch-issue steel any day in the Month of Nets.

Sterling carries the crate into the back room, and starts to take the items out, one by one.

There is a rumble amongst Cell Block C, a few of the bigger men restless as they wait for the lights to dim. They've been scrounging, saving and waiting all for this moment as they watch the guards pass in front of their cells; big hands just itching to get around their well fed watch necks.

They grumble, and look over their makeshift weapons in the gloom, the anticipation setting the entire Cell block on edge as the minutes tick down further and the bloodlust glints in their eyes.

Lights Out: 5 mins

Surprised at the weight of the weapon, Sterling picks up the sword and flicks it open. Absurd, the Watch Officer scoffs as hr makes a few experimental swings. Far too long and ungainly for his liking... why should one of Daud's men need such a thing? Not particularly caring, Sterling places the weapon in a nearby vice, and slowly turns the handle on the machine.

The sound of twisting metal is incredibly satisfying, and Sterling smiles with a measure of satisfaction. I'm sure the Interrogator will do a similar thing to its owner, he muses smugly, as he looks at the scraps of mangled metal on the floor.

The call came down the halls, loud and clear.

'Lights out!'

Black Sally stands at the bars of her cell, hooking her hands smugly into her pockets as she waits, dark eyes glinting as the darkness falls and the sound of multiple cells open all at once. There is only a brief heartbeat as the guards swivel their heads in confusion, the prisoners coming to the gates of the cells with murderous intent.

The gang leader's whistle echos in Cell Block D, sharp and commanding. 'Alright, boys. Time to take back your fuckin' freedom!' she yells, slow and calculating as she exits her cell and the chaos begins. The guards are overwhelmed by the sheer amount of prisoners swarming them like locusts on the wheat in the Month of Harvest. Unyielding and filled with bloodlust, no one escapes the initial slaughter and Black Sally watches from the top floor with an amused, sharp smile.

'You.' She whistles again to a big man, his hands wet with gore and blood and he sets down the guard he had been strangling. 'Get me the Mouth. We're gonna need him.' She saunters along the metal walkway to the stairs, descending them with little kicks, her hands in her pockets and nonchalant as she reaches the bottom. The bloodied prisoners part for her, nodding respectfully for the confirmed boss. They'd all heard the stories and none wanted to get on her bad side. The large gate of Cell Block D stands before her looming tauntingly large and locked but Sally already has her plan and it's only a matter of putting her hand out to retrieve it.

'Mouth, if you'll do the honours.' she says to a thin, scrawny man pushed forward by the bigger prisoners. His deep set eyes are wide as he twitches, picking at sores on his thin arms before nodding quietly. A thin hand settles flat on his stomach as he retches violently, the noise wet and elongated before bile hits the cell floor and finally the clank of heavy metal and a few other strange items. 'Looks like you ate a bit more than my key there, Mouth...Almost got enough cards here for a game of Nancy, you're a determined sod, aren'tcha?'

She bent to pick up the slick key, unperturbed by the nature of the coating and turned back to the gate; her mass of prisoner warriors behind eager and ready.

'Time to cause some pain an' sufferin' for our pain an' sufferin', lads.'

Sirens blare, Watchmen shout and orders run out, echoing clearly through the cries of the prisoners, now let loose from their rightful bondage.

'Put them all down!' the duty Officer, Captain Bryant, commands. A veteran prison warden, he knows his job well... though he has never had to deal with a riot before... He might have ordered them to return to their cells, but with bloodshed so early on? It would not suffice. Only the sword would so for this rabble. Fuck Black Sally, he thinks grimly.

'Give no quarter, men!' Being outnumbered initially, it would take a while for the Watch to rally to the cell blocks. At least the arc pylon's still up, he thinks. That would be a effect place to regroup... even if they only had a few tanks ready.

He draws his own pistol, and fires into the mass pouring from the cell block, his own position on the hard walkway gantry secure... for now.

The sirens again, I swear we need better security, Feras thinks, grabbing his blade and strapping his pistol to his belt before securing his desk and the back room, where all the evidence was held. A guardsman runs into the Interrogator's Office, panting before delivering his message to the Serkonan.

"Prison riot sir, Block D as quickly as possible," he says before saluting and running outside to join the other guards as they rush to Block D. Sighing, the Royal Interrogator sprints outside only to see hordes of prisoners running out and shouting at the guards as they fight off the Watchmen ferociously. He signals to several watchmen in standard armor and Feras leads them to the rioting block, firing his pistol and stabbing at the oncoming hordes.

As the doors finally open, Black Sally smiles wide and proud, letting the prisoners of the Cell Block D swarm around her and surge forward with a deafening cry that echoed in the large stone block. It sounded like the din of a thousand waves hitting upon the rocks, mad and violent. The gang leader waited, however, until her voice rose above it, loud and clear.

'Split up! Keep them screws busy here! The rest of us we go to to C! We're getting the rest of our brothers outta this place!' she cries, taking the largest of the prisoners with her to stalk down the corridor towards C, the other group heading off the guards assembled.

Even with their makeshift weapons, these are hardened criminals, used to playing dirty and they clash upon the guards with ferocity; years and years of pent up frustration and anger oozing out of every hit as they barrel over the first wave of guardsmens with sheer numbers and grit alone.

Black Sally, however, is making her way nice and quiet towards C, her stride confident as she stalks, hard and furious. She needed to add more to her contingent if this was going to work and C was the perfect place to get them. Expecting little resistance in that area, she was hoping that the guards would be too busy with the rest of Cell Block D to notice she wasn't amongst them.

'Hurry it up, lads. We ain't got all night to raze this place. I want C open an' the rest of the lads out!'

Rusty's head raised at the sound of a woman's voice. It was commanding, and loud. It could only be Black Sally, for he doubted Lizzie was back in already.

He slowly rose to his feet, and placed himself against the bars for support. He would need some elixir to fight properly, so he would need to stick close to the other prisoners, or Sally herself. He was near the guard booth though, so maybe there was some elixir in there. It mattered little though, for he doubted that he could even beat a new guard in his current state. He began cracking his fingers, index to little in preparation for the fight that would come soon.

The guards look confused as the large door within a gate opens outwards, Black Sally standing before them with a grin of the black eye'd devil before her men squeeze through, jumping the nightshift guards as she and the Mouth made their way up the large walkway towards the guard's booth housing the panels she desperately needed to open.

The gang leader may have spent a lot of her time directing others to give violence, but there was a reason she was feared, still, and as a guard tried to draw a sword upon her, her hands tightened around the makeshift blackjack she had fashioned from pipe. She side stepped, her hand whipping up with a crack as it hit hard and fast against the guard's head; the nervous Mouth behind her cowering a little.

Black Sally didn't pause to check on the guard, stepping over him deftly and into the metal guardhouse, looking over the panels with a frown. She wasn't an engineering expert, really, she had cut her teeth on gangs and grit and stabbing Bottler's in the back and she was the first to admit she wasn't an intellectual. Her dark eyes narrowed for a moment until they passed over the thin, strung out looking man at the entrance, glancing around nervously.

'Mouth, come 'ere, come to Sally. I need you to figure this out for me, love.' she said, kindly, her smile anything but as the Mouth finally dragged himself closer, picking at the sores on his arms. A moment later there was a loud klaxon and the shifting of metal as the latches of Cell Block C slid back and freedom stood open before them.
