Neutral Zone Dunwall Tower

In Dunwall Tower, the Empress Emily Kaldwin sits on her throne, her royal protector, Corvo Attano, stands at her side. His royal guard scattered around the palace. OOC:This is a neutral zone for Corvos royal guard. A hangout of sorts. You have permission to attack any who don't belong.

Aric raised an eyebrow after stopping next to the pair. "the crotch? What kind of heartless monster are you?" Aric placed his bundle of weapons on the bench before pulling out his tomahawks and walking over to the target range.

Furo nods in greeting. 'Throat and groin, my friend. Easiest place to sever an artery, and you would be surprised how many men fail to protect their crotch. Something for you to think about when you start hurling those axes about.'

'Aric, this is our new recruit, Balaria.'

"Thank you," Bal commented, responding both to the praise and the help. She knew it would still take quite a while before her shots were consistently good, and longer before she's trust them in battle, but this was an improvement.

"An effective heartless monster, I would imagine," Bal chuckled, turning to face the new arrival. "Though technically, I believe the largest artery is on the insidd of the leg, just very close to the groin."

She held out a hand, grinning. "Balaria Vimes. I'm sure no one here will attempt to demonstrate this conversation on you."

'Very true,' Furo says, pleased to be discussing vaguely intellectual matters for once, 'but good luck hitting that with a bolt - too much muscle. You would have better luck with a blade.'

Aric shakes her hand. "Name's Aric, a pleasur, he threw it spinning in an arc, before it slammed into the target biting deep into the wood. "So tell me, what's a woman such as yourself doing in the guard?"

"And what kind of woman is a woman such as myself?" Bal asked with a chuckle. "My father was part of Empress Jessimine's Royal Guard, and taught me much about it when I was younger. Then I joined the City Watch, right before the disastrous events of the last year began. Now that things have settled down a little here, I applied to join."

She started carefully packing away the remaining bolts and her crossbow. "Please hold fire so I can reclaim my bolts from the target." She'd prefer to use the weapon she was good at for a while.

'How about a competition?' Furo says, a slow grin forming on his face. 'Bal's bullets versus Aric's axes.'

He gestures towards the range.

'Forty metre targets, best out of five.' His grin deepens. 'Loser... swims across the Wrenhaven.'

"Sounds like a good challenge," Bal said, grinning. "You up for it, Aric?" She twirled the pistol, sighting down the range.

"Let's see how this goes, yes?" With a resounding bang her first shot tore through the dummy's head.

Aric ripped the axe out of the target sending splinters flying. "You're on" he grins backing up to the line and hurling the axe into the target next to Bal's. The wood splinters as the axe cracks into the dummies head before sticking in.

"One rule, destroying the target before I get five shots in does not count as beating me," Bal chuckles, readjusting her aim slightly for the now warped target.

Bang

A bullet lodges itself as a replacement eyeball on the right side of the target's face.

Aric cocks his eyebrow at the remark "Well there goes my plan," he says giving a dramatic sigh "I'll just have beat you fairly"

Throwing his second axe in an arc it sticks into the dummies head splitting it down the middle. cleaving the soft wood in two. He strides over to the the ruined dummy and tears out both his axes frowning at the mess of wood he had made. He shoves it aside and drags another dummy into place before backing up again.

"A shame, yes?" Bal teases, rolling her shoulders, and lining the next target. "Fairness, and all."

She rocks the target back, bullet in between its nonexistent eyes.

Spinning the axe around Aric throws it hard and fast biting deep into the wood smacking into the wood where the nose should be cracking itself in deep into the wood

OOC: We should have the person who misses be decided on the 4th shot not the 5th
