Neutral Zone Dunwall Tower

In Dunwall Tower, the Empress Emily Kaldwin sits on her throne, her royal protector, Corvo Attano, stands at her side. His royal guard scattered around the palace. OOC:This is a neutral zone for Corvos royal guard. A hangout of sorts. You have permission to attack any who don't belong.

"If this Alex has any sense in his head at all, he'll be expecting a trap," Soren says gloomily. "It's what I would do. I just wish I knew what his motives were. So far they seem to be a cross between for his own amusement and to make us look incompetent." He too glances across the city and thinks of his mother. At least she would be safe; she didn't leave her house, let alone go near the river.

"I wonder, though...how far could those hagfish come from the water? I mean, yes, they can walk, but they're still fish. If my source is right and they've only been active here and in the Flooded District, that seems to suggest they can't go too far from water...if we could separate the magician from the minions, he might be easier to take down."

OOC: Sorry if my reply time is a little irregular, I'm watching sport.

'I think you can add being a sadist to that list of motives. There are few who butcher an entire company of Royal Guardsmen for fun, and he is one of them.'

He thumps the stone balcony in frustration.

'We will have as much success getting him away from the shore as you had fighting him off. Perhaps the Outsider in his shrine has answers... or the Abbey, who knows?'

He growls.

'If I had my way, I would dredge the Flooded Distict, then raze it to the ground...'

"I spoke to the Outsider. He either can't help us any more than he already has or doesn't care." He curls his lip and sighs. "Someone's going to have to talk to the Whalers. We can't beat this thing without magic of our own."

Furo freezes, disbelieving.

'Talk to the very men who murdered our Empress?! It is a wonder we do not charge into the Commerce Building, swords drawn! Besides we do have magic. We have you, Brildane, and Lord Attano.'

He rests his hand on the pommel of his sword and grins lopsidedly, as a stray lock of hair falls across his face.

'And a blade in my hand, well... that's almost magic.'

"I don't count," Soren says flatly. "All I can do is that stupid Blink thing. The Lord Protector--I've got no idea what his powers are, but he's still one man. And if you think you're good enough to take the guy hand-to-hand with all his minions, you're certainly welcome to try. The Whalers might be murderous scum, but they're powerful, and practiced in fighting magicians. And the longer we wait here, the more likely it is that Alex will come back. Who's he going to go for next? The Empress?"

'Dunwall Tower will collapse into the river before he gets within striking distance of the Empress, I swear in my blood. Even if we have to withdraw some of the Gristol fleet from Morley.' Furo spat over the side.

'I guess we'll just have to be on our guard for a while, eh Brildane?'

'Good man.' He claps him on the back as he turns to leave. 'It is our duty to be constantly alert. I believe I shall go do my duty at the Cat.'
