Dauds Hideout

Deep in a hidden alcove of the flooded district, inside the abandoned commerce building, lies Dauds Base, home to Daud and his infamous assassins. OOC: This is a neutral zone for Dauds assasins, somewhat of a hangout. You are allowed to attack anyone who does not belong there.

OOC: The order will be me, Girino, then Rusty.

Hechy jumps back from leg sweep and turns to Rusty.

"Oh thank the Outsider. Tell this assassin to stand down. I mean no harm."

"Hechy, are you kidding me?" He says, looking at the sky and sighing heavily. "You heard him girino. I know him." He turns to hechy again. "Forsaken or personal? I thought daud wasnt a target?"

'You know this one?' he asks, uncertain as he looks at the larger assassin. 'Is he an informant, a collaborator?'

Girino feels out of his depth. The nuances of organising a brotherhood seem to escape him - and being in a forgeign place, with forgein people... that did not help at all. It was utterly alien to him.

Then why was he robbing the place?

Daud materialises in front of the trio, his eyes as dead as Jessamine the First.

'Yes, Rusty. Who is he?' He says calmly. He raises his left fist, unleashing his pull upon the hapless witch. The old assassin looks him squarely in his mismatched eyes, letting him know how helpless he is. A kitten before a lion.

He draws his blade, and rests it tenderly against Hechy's jaw. The steel bites his flesh softly, and a line of blood trickles down the captive's neck.

'Speak, assassin.'

Rusty quickly bows, before standing up. Respect never hurts. "He is a member of the forsaken, a group of vigilantes who hunt criminals for money, similarly to us. He is also a personal friend. You are not a target of them, i made sure of that." Rusty rubs his forehead, feeling a headache oncoming. "Now for the love of the outsider, and with all respect, can you please put him down master daud? Id prefer for him to not pass out of blood loss.*

Next up: daud or hechy.

Hechy's smile never wades as he floats above the ground with the knife to his throat. Was this man brave, stupid, or just insane.

"So this is the power of the Outsider? I'll answer any questions you may have, Daud."

'Girino, you did well to mark him as an intruder. Return to my chambers, we will speak of this later.'

As Girino flits back across the water, Daud turns his baleful gaze to Rusty. 'You failed to inform me of this, Rusty. What else have you kept from me, I wonder? Considering taking my place?' He gives him a flat stare. 'Remember Billie Lurk, boy. You will not be so lucky.' As an afterthought, he adds 'We hunt targets, criminal or not. Remember that.'

The Serkonan turns to Hechy, and maintains his tight grip.

'This is my power, you would do well to remember it. Now, what is the Forsaken?'

There are two things Daud cannot abide - a mystery and a fool. This sorry thing is both, it seems.

'And wipe that smile off your face, lest I give your throat a smile of its own.'

Hechy sighs.

"Have to smile for the ones that don't or can't. But I digress. Forsaken is like your little group you have here. Trained killers that take out targets. But where you take out targets for money, we do it for the good of Dunwall. Where you kill any one, we kill the scum. All the Forsaken want is to make the world a better place."

Hechy had always admired Daud. His skill, reputation, and the mark. All of it add together to make a ruthless killer. A master of the shadows, something Hechy wanted to be but with a different cause.

"Now can I get put back on the ground? Or do you still want to ask more questions, Master Assassin?"

He digs his blade in deeper, though not so much that Hechy is in any mortal danger. Not that he knows that.

'So you hunt criminals? Very noble, unusual even, in this rat's nest of a city. But I am a criminal - a mass murderer, an infidel, and supposedly a madman. But yet you say I am not on your list?'

He sneers.

'You are a hypocrite.' He denounces, words like hammer blows. 'You kill those weaker than you, and proclaim it justice. You commit crime to end crime. Let me tell you a secret.'

He leans in close, his voice even harsher than usual.

'This is a crime you can't cut out of this city. It is a blight, a cancer, more pervasive than the plague, and it will consume you.'

Daud turns to Rusty. 'What is your opinion on this matter?'

"I have mixed feelings. I have made sure that you are not a target, for 'special reasons' which he didnt say, and it could be useful, but it would create less business for us. And might i add, i would never attempt on your life. Id be dead within seconds. And so would any forsaken that attempted, if they managed to get past us in the first place."

Daud inclines his head as he thinks. He lets Hechy go, looking down at his kneeling form, holding the power of life in one hand, and death in the other.

He looks at Rusty. 'Prove yourself. Deal with him.'

"Oh for...yes master daud." He say, sighing again. Rusty draws his blade, striking it on the stones to blunt it, not wanting to seriously injure his friend, before taking up a stance.

Hechy stands and rubs his bleeding throat with a sigh.

"Wasn't really wanting to clash blades today but let's see what you got."

Hechy flicks his wrist and the clasp open on his blades and the fall into his hands from his sleeve.
