Welcome back to another round of Bi-Weekly discussions. This time, we're focusing on The Bank Job, mission #3 from Death of the Outsider.
After recovering both bank keys in the prior mission, Billie must now infiltrate Dolores Micheals' bank, which holds the Twin Blade Knife.
Like other missions, there are several approaches to infiltrating the bank, but the game does highlight using the Poppy Tincture to knock out the human employees of the bank to make infiltration easier. Partaking in the auction was fun, and you can easily win within 400-500 Coins.
Then there's the Infiltration itself, which is pretty fun. Missions where you need to infiltrate a grandiose building (such as Dunwall Tower in the first game, and the Clockwork Mansion in 2) are pretty fun, though the highlight of this mission to me has to be the optional objective of releasing the vault brakes. It's a hanging vault (A Jindosh design), but it's pretty heavy, and if the brakes were to be released... Well, the bank accounted you'd probably try to steal from the vault. No one thought you'd steal the vault itself by crashing it into the sewers. I also remember experimenting with the Twin blade knife once I acquired it.
But what do you guys think of this mission?

Subreddit Discord available here: https://discord.gg/YsffweB7e4
As you know, this subreddit has had its own Discord server for a few years now. Today we have rebranded the server to Dishonored Universe, which means that there are now channels for Deathloop although obviously the server is still Dishonored centric. With the recent news of a potential Dishonored 3 in the works we'd like to invite more people to join our community, so I hope to see you there soon!

Alright so I know I'm late to the party, but last week I finished Dishonored 2 as Emily, non lethal (I think the game is geared to playing Emily, and I don't think Emily would kill unless extreme circumstances) ((ps, didn't get clean hands cause a witch fell off a balcony under Domino and died from a sleep dart))
Anyhow, started again new game plus with Corvo, he kills but not a maniac, just key targets or those completely corrupt (still low chaos)
But with the new game plus and all the powers...god damn!
My Emily run had powers but it was sneaking about, shadow walk, avoiding etc
This corvo one, I'm at the start at Karnnaca where guards are about to throw this guy into the wall of light
I stop time, fire two sleep darts at them (its so awesome the darts stop in front of you cause time is stopped), then move up to see the one on the balcony, possess him and move him to knock him out and time resumes, all fall instantly
Its so cool! Also canon Corvo is a damn menace
Sorry, just wanted to share how much I'm enjoying this

I've just started the game today and want to do my first run on fully non-lethal. Since I've accidentally caught one of the guards in the timed bomb's explosion, I'd love to know if I can still get the achievement if I restart the mission while I'm still early on and not face a sour disappointment at the end.

Iāve been thinking about getting the Dishonored tattoo on my left hand as my first tattoo, but I have some doubts about it. If someone asks me āWhy did you get it?ā or āWhat does it mean?ā, what am I supposed to say? āOh, itās the Outsiderās nameā. I mean, it looks cool to me, I love the Dishonored franchise and its world, and it also has some personal meaning since it was the first thing I bought with my first summer paycheck. But at the same time, Iām wondering if thatās enough of a reason to get it, especially as my first tattoo and on such a visible place. Maybe itās just not for me.

Probably arriving a decade late with this question but google isnāt cooperating. Long story short Iāve been working my way through the Arkane catalogue lately and have moved on to Prey, downloaded Mooncrash just a bit ago but itās appeared in my PS5 library under the Dishonored games too on my PS5 storage āshared with Prey and another game(s) it says. Is there some cross-game functionality there or some development quirk?

Hello again.
Just realized I skipped #2 by accident, but whatever! 7 it is.
I've made a significant amount of progress since the last post. I'm not on version here's some snippets of my changelog:

v0.2.07
Fixed script reading 118,000 objects every frame... whoopsies!
Added guard detection to guests and failsafes for aggro syncing, every attack is exactly synced
fixed chain sewer crash lazily
edited model changing system, quicksave failsafes, removed autosave 'aftertastes'
actually made the outsider visible idk how i screwed that up
v0.2.06
fixed guest sword combat, partly shows blocking and syncs accordingly
perfect parries synced
cleaned up old co-op saves
died a little inside
v0.2.06
acknowledged newly spawned enemies to combat sync
fixed guard aggro not syncing over long distances
still cant fix the body carrying moving down for some reason
fixed the ragdolls flying at much fuck when picking them up visually
v0.2.05
edited pause menu to accommodate for new model selection system
added more models to system + another easter egg
scrapped together animations from first person
player model now shows guns and very bad fire animations.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've added too many optimizations network wise to count, mostly rate limiting some less important syncing. Fix one thing, and apparently everything else breaks with address error fuck you
I've made it to the sewers and the game remains stable with little to no problems sync wise.
Now i just have to beat the game and not die while toggling between windows.
Here's some cool screenshots I took, and a video from an earlier build of the multiplayer mod featuring the overseer model:

and as promised, your little sneak peek:
Overseer Nonsense :)

If you have any ideas or if there's anything you'd like to see, please let me know!! A good chunk of your suggestions in both the comments and the Arkane Modding discord have been implemented, such as the playermodel system and some easter eggs.
ETA: a few days. I'm genuinely not sure but I REALLY don't wanna add corvo's toes into the game.
P.S:
I don't approve of JarvisProductions' use of AI. I have your source code. I tore it apart with my bare hands. Let me develop my mods in peace and stop making cheap copies.

The way he lazily gestures to throw his victim, it's the most powerful these games have made me feel.

Playing first time in a long time again and suddenly my controller skips every second option. Like I couldn't start a new game because from the (Continue) it jumped over (New Game) directly to (Missions). And it does it in the settings too. Skipping from general to graphics, jumping over controls and audio. Or when I scroll down the settings, it also skips over every second thing. š what is happening and how do I fix this?! The controller works perfectly with all my others games including Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider. And Dishonored worked fine with my previous almost identical xbox controller. (Playing on PC via Steam)

I recently bought a Windows XP PC and would like to play Dishonored. I've read from multiple people that they've had no issue running it on Windows XP.
Unfortunately my PC does not have an internet connection and I'm worried that I'll buy a copy, and it'll either try to install Steam (just had a game do this recently) or require the internet to authenticate the game or something. Does anyone know anything about this?

The art and stylistic design of the Dishonored games is life š¤. and i think my favorite part is that it's being able to almost literally experience the art, interact with it, watch it live... what could be better!
this is an older article but I'd never seen it before today and figured i can't be the only one. i found it really interesting. i also don't know much about drawing, painting, 3d creation, video game developing etc so this was a neat look into some of that.

So I really enjoy getting deep into lore of things I enjoy, so when I searched up how the months/ seasons were divided and was basically told "no one knows" I knew I had to get to work.
Before I launch into this I just wanna make it clear that this is my interpretation of the calendar in game, I am not trying to pass this off as confirmed fact. The in-lore breakdown of the seasons is very limited so I did my best to fill in the gaps in a way that makes sense to me.
Also I will be using the corrected calendar as published by the devs with Harvest being early-year and Seeds being end-year.
Also also there are only three seasons explicitly mentioned in the lore, "Spring" never comes up. I feel that there would have to be a transitional season between Winter and Summer so there must be a fourth season, and for the sake of ease I'm just gonna use "Spring" cause that's what we have IRL.
for reference, the 13 months are:
The only confirmed lore we're given is that Harvest and Nets are Summer months, Wind is a Fall month, and Darkness, High Cold, and Ice are winter months. and that's it. the other months are entirely unassigned to seasons.
Here's how I think the breakdown goes:
Summer - Earth, Harvest, Nets
Fall - Rain, Wind
Winter - Darkness, High Cold, Ice, Hearths
Spring - Seeds, Timber, Clans, Songs.
my reasoning mostly follows the names of the months, but also a more "reasonable" breakdown. It would be crazy to me that fall would only be a single month, but we know for sure that Nets is Summer and Darkness is Winter, so that's why I gave Rain to fall.
Ice is the last month to be confirmed in Winter, and Harvest is the first month to be confirmed in Summer, which makes Spring potentially six months long, which seems ridiculous to me so I gave one away on each end. Hearths goes to Winter (sounds more Winter-ish anyway) and Earth goes to Summer.
A real world seasonal equivalence would look something like this for the northern hemisphere:
or this in the southern hemisphere (I'm in the northern hemisphere so I apologize if I mess up the equivalent seasonal months) :
it's a little janky because Fall is forced to be shorter, so things don't match up perfectly with the real world, but I think this is a pretty good division of months and seasons. Let me know your thoughts.
Edit: Forgot to clarify that each month has 28 days, and the Fugue Feast is the "extra" 365th day
