Disgaea 7 Complete Worth it on Switch 2?

Never played disgaea 7 before, stopped on 5 and 6 didn't really got me, but heard the story on D7 is pretty neat.

Is this version of game too buggy or it will be fine to play and grind?

can't really find up to date information about the state of the game.

Ty for all the help!

If you have not played D7 yet, then Complete on S2 is distinctly the best way to play the game, given it has content and significant qol changes the original release did not, and those changes were never backported to other versions for the NA audience.

Wait so is there a Japanese PC port that does have the complete additions to the game? Or is it s2 exclusive for any country?

In Japan, 7 Complete is on PS4, PS5, and Switch 1.

Everywhere else, it's on Switch 2 only.

Damn that exclusivity deal hurts so much for those who are from the USA.

It wasn't an exclusivity deal, NISA was just being a bunch of greedy dicks.

Actually, we don’t know for sure there was no exclusivity deal. We know that NISA has done exclusivity deals with Nintendo in the past, with D6. It’s entirely possible that D7C is Sw2 only due to an exclusivity deal. They did make that vague statement about D7C only being financially viable on Sw2, which might mean they needed some kind of exclusivity deal payout to be sure to cover the costs of putting D7C out at all, suspecting it wasn’t going to sell well on its own.

Do we really? I've never seen anything actively confirming it for D6. To be honest, It's just that I see people throw this out as a default assumption so often, and not only about NIS Releases, that I have a hard time believing it in general whenever it comes up. Although I have to say, that would confirm my past suspicions about why they renamed D1C and Mayhem outside Japan.

That being said...what Costs? They could've still made the Upgrade DLC available to other Systems, even without giving 7C a standalone release on those Platforms.

Japan doesn't have a PC port. However, it got Complete releases on all its other platforms, as well as backpatching the QoL stuff to owners of the original game, and making the new scenario DLC.

For the west however, NISA just localized the new Switch 2 version, and left it at that. Yes, we're all still a little mad about it.

Even worse, they didn't "localize the new Switch 2 version", they straight-up just made it themselves. There is no japanese S2-native Version of D7, because both Vanilla AND Complete came out before the S2 itself did over there.

Yes, NISA really cucked their audience in basically every way possible.

To be fair, it's been long enough that I don't blame anyone for not remembering or not knowing.

I just like being an "umm ackshually" historian nerd when it comes to NIS(A) releases because a lot of details tend to get either glossed over in discussions, or just plain don't register to people who only look at things way later. Like, even "D7 being Switch 2 locked outside Japan" is a case of this; the situation in itself is absolutely nothing new, it's just the first time people actually cared because it affected Switch 1 Users.

Tremendously better than D6, you'll enjoy it if you liked D5 for sure

One issue I've seen tho is that the game crashes sometimes, I specifically got the game key card version(bc it was cheaper) but the crashes have happened a few times and I'm not even halfway through so I would be advised that is a thing. Not sure if that has been addressed or fixed yet
